For sure it is not the most discreet reference...

But at first sight this Portugieser is very appealing to me.

My first impressions:

I like the harmony of the dial and especially the colour combination of case and dial very much. Just from the pics. Of course I have to see it in the metal and try it on my wrist.

I especially appreciate the year indicator in dial colour. That’s IMO more harmonious than a white window would have been.

The whole concept is “classic Portugieser” (case size, appearance, dial architecture, PR etc). The special gold alloy is according to IWC much more resistant than standard gold. That’s an interesting point, like the modern movement with ceramic components.

These are my very personal first impressions.

I am looking forward to see it as soon as possible (as soon as we are allowed to).
