Cool moment for Volvo
Tom Walkinshaw and Volvo—Wasn’t that a funky and amazing tie-up? Seeing prepped 850 Wagons on the track was a statement indeed, and the C70 was and interesting foray for Volvo. Recall that during that time, Walkinshaw Racing was also running Touring cars and Walkinshaw himself was hired into Benetton F1 in the run-up to the Schumacher’s emergence. It’s a shame the Volvo didn’t sell better, but then again perhaps the relatively low numbers enhances this quirky performance twist in a company with such an austere reputation. Enjoy it in safety!
