Very cool, amazing they still found places to shave weight, love the commitment of deleting the rear window with a carbon hatch, though I wonder at what cost. Carbon fiber wheels aren't cheap...

Its great the manufacturers are taking cars to the extreme and almost embracing the modder culture by offering OEM alternatives. Maybe I'm getting old but I guess I'm not that extreme anymore, I like that this exists but I'd rather have a more street friendly spec. Actually, the more I think about it, I'd probably just have the things you can't really see - suspension, door cards, and the exhaust smile

Carbon wheels in particular I'm still not sold on. Seems like some really expensive consumables, there's a reason most race cars don't run carbon wheels and Porsche only offers carbon wheels as an option for the street cars, magnesium for the track cars.

So here comes the new Alpine A 110R.

Finally, the teasing has ended. I heard some rumors about an extreme Alpine some months ago. And what I just read was conform to what I heard: An Alpine with 34 kilos removed, and some carbon parts here and there. And that the power would not change ( 300...

...kind of odd setting it in Japan, but still really cool. This might be a bit hard-core for a daily driver. It's too bad they don't sell this brand in the U.S. It's a really beautiful car : )

The Japan photos are due to the fact that they will unveil it in Suzuka, the F1 track this week-end.

Yes, a bit hard core due to the lack of rear view because of the carbon rear glass... But other than that, even if the suspensions are tougher, I think it is doable to drive in on a daily basis. Best, mon ami. Nicolas

Your roads are probably in better shape than the ones here in California...

Yes!

I'm with you on this approach, love what you've done with your Alpine! I'm the same, other than wheels all my car mods can't be seen ;)

Though I'm getting soft and starting to like interior upgrades. I can't see exposed carbon fiber if I'm driving the car but little interior trim upgrades are nice when sitting in traffic.

And this is not the end. I am, right now, at around 90%. There is still some work to do, such as a discreet lip on the front, a more efficient fuel pump, and the rest is all about the interior...

A red burgundy leather for the seats and steering wheel, and a grey Alcantara for the door panels and the roof... And that's it! The only thing I am still debating is ultra light wheels... Best, Nicolas

LOL!

But we do have the Corvette C8 Z06 in USA! 670 horsepower. Naturally aspirated. About 100 kg overweight at 3500+ pounds or 1600 kg. But this Alpine A110 R is like a nice duck leg - delicious, nutritious, and featuring a crispy skin texture; delicious, a l...

What is the price of the A110 R on the road with taxes in France? The price of the Corvette C8 Z06 starts at around $110,000 USD before options and taxes in USA. Depending on the state, taxes can differ, but in California, taxes are typically around 9% an...

Fabulous ! I really like the look of this one !

As for the wheels I think there must be a technical reason why they did this, probably the rear wheels get more of a beating than the ones on the front axle ... design wise it's cool to have different wheels but it would have been nicer if they were equal...

The different wheels are due to an aerodynamic reason. Now, aesthetically, I prefer having the same wheels on the front and rear, of course. As for the comparison with the Alonso edition, I prefer this one.

 By: amanico : October 7th, 2022-08:06
The Alonso, you will pay it 43 K euros more for a different setting of the suspensions ( which I don't really care as those of the R are enough for me, and I prefer having my own setting ), and for some aesthetic differences which I don't like ( the rear ...

Indeed ... 'building' your car to your own specifications is more rewarding ... . Looking out for the Bimbeano and Amanico specials

Not sure if I will ever get one.

For the moment .. and the coming years .. it simply doesn't fit my purposes or way of living .... and then there still is the 205 GTI to be considered ;-)
