Up to 11 knots, but you’re trying to have enough battery to get home safe😄

Old tech/new tech 1950 Tesla boat 🚣🏼‍♀️

Me and my middle son have had this boat for 4 years now. It was a nice wooden Swedish boat from 1950. Motor was a 1972 Volvo Penta where you had to add lead to make it run. But the motor was gone and couldn’t be saved. We installed a turbine motor and 4 s...

Sounds like an exciting project

Several engineers have also updated vintage cars with such setups but the cost to customers is usually prohibitive. Thanks for the pics!

But indeed

Range anxiety reaches another level to such matters in the automotive world!

Oh yes especially when the software tells you you have plenty of battery left but you don’t

We tried that a few times as the technology was super new. With this technology the software has to make sure you to both charge and discharge the batteries evenly.

Hows the range?

Guess there is a lack of superchargers in most ports aswell but can be a fun little project anyway.

It can run 4-5 hours on low speed 5-7 knots

Max speed 11 knots. But it’s not a planing boat. Even if you had a big engine this boat type will just dip.

Yes we made a pact when we bought the boat.

And we both have bad conscience that we don’t use it enough. 🙃

We tried. It was a mess to have this thing on board smelling of gas

And the point was sort of lost somehow. The area is fine for these 4-5 hours trips.

Yeah superchargers would be cool

We have a lot of electric boats in Copenhagen. But all rentals. No one private has done the jump yet. Except us. Hope we find someone just as crazy. It’s a joy to cruise in silence.

Me too...

Fun!

How many knots can it do? At a more efficient cruise speed how many hours can she operate between charges?

Just loading with a plug before you leave harbour.

Or did you mean something else?

Of course. Love it! But that’s a different story. 800 HP?

Looking forward to the ride!

2100 German horses. MAN [nt]
