Those cars are much lower production cars...

Sep 26, 2013,15:39 PM

Where the Aventador will have a total of 4000-5000 cars produced, those cars are all produced in much lower numbers.

I guess I'm not in the mentality; I'm still thinking what's the best bang for the buck.  And I think the 458 is a great bang for the buck.  But emotionally, I love the Aventador more than I love the 458.  But, considering the Aventador is significantly more than a 458, it seems tha that the Aventador is not a great value.  But what's the price of happiness?  I'd be happier with the Aventador than a 458 (simply because I love the aesthetics of the Aventador so much), but maybe I don't place a high enough priority on my personal happiness as much as my priorities on practical statistics and performance.

But yes, out of the 918, LaFerrari, Pagani, and Veyron, I like the Aventador the most.  I love the Aventador.  Love it!

The Lamborghini Aventador; A Review Of The Latest 12-Chambered Bull

 By: patrick_y : September 24th, 2013-11:08
Patrick_y test drives the Lamborghini Aventador at Pebble Beach. A long review and follows as the Lamborghini Aventador really digs its hoofs into Patrick_y's memories of other cars he's driven while at Pebble Beach. I have been attending the Pebble Beach...

I want that blue one !!!!!!

Hi Patrick, great to hear you had a go in the Aventador. As you mentioned it is not a car for most roads (on this planet), but once you get to a deserted pretty wide and windy road with a few straights ... hmmmmm . Did you get to rev it to 8000 or so rpm ...

Glad we won't be fighting for the same color.

The car was amazing. It is a hyper car. But it still performs superbly well. And yes. I did get to go to redline in the first three gears and the shrill of the engine and exhaust still haunts me a month later. A fantastic machine. And one that is truly a ...

wow..what a review and what an experience..

the Aventador's design takes Lambo into the next decade..very cool..wonder what else can be done... thanks for the detailed review and fantastic photos...

Thank you for reading!

It was a wonderful experience. But now, I'm haunted by it. The sound. The smell. The g-force feelings. Where do I get my high now? A blessing to drive, a curse to be with speed limits. I'm still thinking about it every day. Thanks for reading!

Fantastic Review..

I really enjoyed reading your experiences under different driving modes, its the sign of the times that many cars now exhibit multiple personalities by just pressing a button. S

Thanks for reading!

Honestly, I was getting used to the car, so the car was almost always kept in the "Strada" mode. Except for some straight acceleration runs, I put it into "Sport" and "Corsa" modes. I didn't have the guts to drive the car in Sport nor Corsa mode for some ...

Fantastic review, but allow some comments....

... Lambo is owned by VW group. R&D is not the one of a small car maker. Actually, Porsche, bentley, bugatti, Audi,... all these brands benefit when they can from each other. Downside, is to find some switches on a bentley, that you will find in an Au...

Thank you for voicing your opinion.

The transmission dies shift much more aggressively in corsa mode but not necessarily more than I expected. I think price performance is really in the eye of the beholder. Strictly speaking performance wise many will say the Ferrari 458 and Mclaren Mp4-12c...

... unbeatable and for a buck. And we are talking about top car manufacture. On track, it did a better time of 1/10th better than the mclaren 12C, while it has 150hp less and its like 170kg heavier!! But that being said, i think that when you come on sign...

I need parking sensors. But I agree the 991 GT3 seems awesome.

Thanks for the video link

I prefered the sound of the Ferrari V12, assuming this was filmed on the same equipment. But that Aventador is better to look at, and what better place to look at it than inside a Ferrari? :-) Andrew

The way the VW Group treats their customers, even Porsche and Bentley, I would not count on good service when known defects occur. We all know of the Porsche engine fiasco and Bentley false air hose problem just above the tranny. There are more, yet if on...

That was a beauty when it was unveiled last year at Pebble Beach... Above was the presentation I was fortunate enough to attend (as a guest of Hublot and Ferrari). I'm told, the F12 and the 458 and McLaren MP4-12C (really confusing name for the McLaren) ...

I would not, Patrick.

The thing is while I do hope to buy a Lange or Patek in the looooong run, I do not have any about owning a Lambo or a Ferrari, even a Porsche or a Corvette and that's why I avoid looking at them. Maybe a test drive. With a Patek on the wrist it may not be...

Dream car after dream watch...

Just saw a feature on 60 Minutes (TV Show in USA) about Lamborghini last night. Wow, that's a beautiful car! When is 60 Minutes going to do an episode of a watch factory?

beautiful photos

Even 8 years later, I'm still dreaming of the Aventador. What an amazing machine!

Looks nice, but BUYER BEWARE...

As many die hard car guys know, the VW Group (consisting of VW, Porsche, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, etc) does not seem to treat their customers well. Bad engines in Porsches they refuse to recall, Bentley cars with longstanding expensive problems you're ...

Hmm. Good point!

Reliability is an important factor in an owner's experience. I've since set my sights on the Huracan, as it's even easier to drive and still a very emotional experience. Plus it's even more reliable.

Superb review, Patrick.

On pictures, it is impressive, but in the real, it is even more! An " U.D.O ", absolutely! An architectural masterpiece. And when you are lucky enough to hear the engine roaring, you loose your mental health. A feast for the ears. Thank you so much for su...

About five years late responding to your post! I still get the tingles when one of these Aventadors drive by. It's not exactly a "gentleman's" car but still, what a machine!
