The Persuaders ( 21th Century version ).

Mar 28, 2021,10:13 AM

I took my good old Volvo P1800E for a ride in Normandy, and a visit to my friends, there.

I had the time to check with the local Alpine Dealer some modifications on my Chassis, and it will be great fun.

First step in early May, which will also include the rims.

Then, second step in July or September, with something totally unexpected.

Then, in October, the third stage...

And finally, the fourth stage in December of January.

I didn't expect to spend so much, but it will really be worth it...

For the moment, some pictures of my Volvo P1800 with my friend's A 110S, ala " Persuaders ":

Then a couple of pictures of the back of this car, which I didn't photograph that much...

More to soon come!

Best,

Nicolas

... (although not as good as the original), but that P1800 - wow! And I like the fact that you use it! Enjoy!

Bravo!!!

And a lot of fun! Great photos of a great pair of classics. Kent

I take it you've seen the May issue of Classic and Sports Car?

I’m saving the magazine for my flight but...

It looks like there were at least 2, the second a P1800S. Also in one series or another a Jag and a Jensen. It looks like Roger had use of the Volvos off the set. There’s a cool photo of him fueling up at the front of the magazine.

Looks like...

The P1800's were in the first series (Roger Moore), the Jag XJ-S in the second series (Return of the Saint) with Ian Ogilvy and the Jensen Interceptor in the third series with Simon Dutton. I guess there was an even more recent one with a Volvo C70.

Nice machine!

Legende or Sport? :-)

 By: SALMANPK : March 29th, 2021-00:02

Legende, but I am working on something in between to be close to the Chassis of the S, with some important gains in weight, and some mechanical improvements ( Dynamic Air Box, and super exhaust ).

The outcome, if al goes well, is around 280 HP, less than 1100 Kilos, and 40 extra Nm. And in terms of comfort, soemhere between the Legende and the S. All of that is made by Alpine, in a customized program with bespoke pieces...

Such a beauty! 😍

If it only had more luggage space... 😐

Same, very same here...

I would buy an Alpine in the blink of an eye if it were not for our stupid existing and upcoming laws here in Belgium. We are heading straight to a global 19 mph (30kph) speed limit on most of our Flemish roads ... no need to tell you i'm not really eager...
