I wouldn’t normally post about an incoming car but it seemed appropriate. Here is my Vantage V8 manual that’s I’m collecting tomorrow

I’ve never owned an Aston so I’m looking forward to seeing how it works out. The dog leg manual should be interesting

The new and the last Aston Martin Vantage, the V12 Vantage.

 By: amanico : March 17th, 2022-07:45
Say hello and bye bye to the Aston V12 Vantage. There will be only 333 cars, all sold out, and it will be the last. Replaced by an EV? ...

wow gorgeous curves and lines

too sinister eyes

 By: Gelato Monster : March 17th, 2022-15:06
instead of aristocratic powerlook

That's it.

 By: amanico : March 17th, 2022-22:11

Yes the headlights …

…so agree with you, the only weak point in this otherwise stunning car.

I think Big Grill/Mouth is cool (if done correctly).

 By: Gelato Monster : March 21st, 2022-01:47
Its contrarian exhibitionism to an ugly electric which has no need for mouth/grill (LOL)

I much prefer smaller ones

 By: amanico : March 21st, 2022-06:55
...

agree. sweeter

Just Gorgeous

 By: baldywatchman : March 17th, 2022-09:13

agree, more ravishing without wing .

 By: Gelato Monster : March 17th, 2022-14:00
Nonetheless the wing gives kinkiness.

+1

Original V12 Vantage

 By: guycord : March 17th, 2022-14:31
Having once owned an original V12 Vantage (one of the first 200), this 2022 version is one f-ugly car. Bit like a schoolboy bored in a history lesson penning a beautiful elegant and understated sports coupe profile and by the end of the lesson he has over...

Agree

 By: guycord : March 18th, 2022-13:12
I had a 2006 V8 without all the trim and sills. Unfortunately, the clutch was rubbish and the 4.3L was underpowered. The V12 got both of those right. I had my bonnet vents painted to titanium grey to de-carbonise.

That is some serious vroom vroom!

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : March 17th, 2022-16:31

Engine wise, yes.

 By: amanico : March 17th, 2022-22:13

It looks and sounds really nice....but that piece of carbon fiber strip near the door sill...

 By: Clueless_Collector : March 17th, 2022-16:31
might be a problem with ignorant people use it as a step to get in/out of the car, or pranksters stepping on it.

Brutal looking,

 By: InHavenPro : March 17th, 2022-17:54
no doubt but at the same time, despite imagining it being intoxicating to drive, it lacks some of the aesthetic finesse and elegance of the previous generation Vantage (and other Astons). That is simply the reason I don't have a 'thirst' for these newer c...

And a too large mouth.

 By: amanico : March 17th, 2022-22:13

I'll take the last Vanquish for me. Preferably a 2015 model year with the 8 speed transmission...

 By: patrick_y : March 17th, 2022-18:12
And a glorious sounding NATURALLY ASPIRATED V12 motor for me. Yes, it's down on the horsepower. But it's a wonderful puristic expression of grand touring!

I've got a specific car in mind...

 By: patrick_y : March 17th, 2022-22:16
This specific 2015 Vanquish belongs to a friend. I was with him when he acquired it new. Hopefully, I'll be there when he sells it... ...to me!

That's a grail of a car.

Do you have a photo?

 By: amanico : March 17th, 2022-22:31

Here's a Press Photo I found online!

 By: patrick_y : March 18th, 2022-00:33
...

Ditto.

 By: InHavenPro : March 17th, 2022-23:58
I will get, at some point, either a Mark II DBS, or a Mark II Vanquish - same philosophy, slightly different executions....

They're not great cars per se...

 By: patrick_y : March 18th, 2022-00:30
The cars aren't overall great cars. They're quirky, unreliable, and they have their problems/quirks. The steering feel isn't the best. The brakes, despite being carbon ceramics, aren't the best in feel nor by statistics. The acceleration is actually kind ...

Exactly.

 By: InHavenPro : March 18th, 2022-01:06
In my view, unless you are a dedicated race car driver who attends track days at least 10+ times a year, those purely objective, factual qualities, which other manufacturers exhibit in greater quantities, ultimately pale in comparison. The sheer psycholog...

Gotcha. To me, I need the technical qualifications...

 By: patrick_y : March 18th, 2022-06:20
Porsche and Lamborghini really do a good job on the technical side. The Lamborghini does a great job on the emotional side too. But the Aston Martin just does it in a special way that's very elegant and less flamboyant than the Lamborghini.

I like NA but I would rather have the new V12

 By: convexproblem : November 4th, 2022-07:52
The old one doesn't rev higher and honestly I feel like the new one doesn't sound any worse (they're both rumbly 12s without much of the high pitched 6x fundamental frequency) and all the technical improvements are worth it. At 5.2L and "only" 700Nm of to...

True beast and beauty

And the color is beautiful too.

Thank you 😊

 By: baldywatchman : March 20th, 2022-16:53

Hmmm, I’ll have to wait to see one in the metal….

 By: NickO : March 19th, 2022-01:47
But first impressions from your pictures is this will not be my favorite Aston. When the first thing the profile picture makes me think of is a Ford Mustang GT, we’re not off to a good start….
