He has lusted after one for almost 40 years...he acquired it a year ago and had to have this color combo. He says it is one of his most reliable cars, surprisingly enough and a blast to drive. He believes there might be only around 50 still here in the st...

Love those crazy

to save us from ourselves set hurdles that are hard to get around, I think.

Fabulous Renault Tim...

I have had the pleasure of owning several of these great cars. Both the original Turbo 1 & 2. Thanks for sharing the photos with us.

Ah ha, good to know. It looks like a blast to drive.

Light weight and nimble!

Yes...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : December 16th, 2019-01:04
And that was part of the challenge for the driver. You needed to work hard for your pleasure and keep the little monster “fizzing”

Depends who’s driving ;-)) [nt]

It was an absolute riot !....

 By: Cpt Scarlet : December 16th, 2019-01:01
after you made a few changes ... The standard Michelin tyres were very hard and couldn’t clear water from the road surface due to the tread pattern.... when combined with the very short wheelbase, the combination destroyed many cars !

Wow - what kind of car is this?

Adorable!!!

Renault 5 Turbo 2 ....

 By: Cpt Scarlet : December 15th, 2019-14:48
Is the full moniker. Mid engine four cylinder with turbo. 1397cc. 160ps in standard form. Launched in 1980

Thanks Capt.! [nt]

Cool!

Thanks for the info!

Funny you should use this term, as the owner says he gets many comments from women on this car as well as guys...

 By: Tim Jackson : December 15th, 2019-15:57
Typically, his other cars are usually commented on by guys. It is a neat machine from my youth, and I suspect from his too. Funny how these cars pull at the hearts strings even after many years. Cheers!

Indeed! [nt]

of an Awesome Legendary car, how exciting to see one. I love the design of this car, if they were to reintroduce it today in a larger format it would be a big success. S

Thanks Salman, it was quite exciting to see this!

I remember a friend had one long time ago . Had a big accident with it because you needed to handle it with care

It was all about tyre choice....

And if you hadn't mentioned this was Southern California, the palm trees, road art, and two Teslas in the background would have been dead giveaways. Best, Tim
