Porsche 914: The shunned Porsche?
Everybody swore by the 911, and the 911 only, when the 914 came out. It is not the Porsche you are first thinking of, for sure, but still. I find it quite lovely. The perfs are not at the level of the 911, except if you get the 6 cylinder version. But still...
The body is less iconic, bur doesn't lack charm.

I was the original owner of a '74 2.0 and kept it for 25 years. I also had an original 914-6 for a while. I preferred the 4 cylinder 2 liter for every day use.
Don't see those around much anymore. Had a friend in
high school whose dad had the6 cylinder version, was quite the fun ride.
Back in my high school days I briefly dated a girl who drove a 914.
I still think of her from time to time. The Porsche, not the girl.

The odd styling made this one of my favorite Porsches back when they were common on the road--and I still feel the same about them today.
I'm sure I'm in the minority (maybe even a minority of one) when I say I'd prefer a 914 over the '80s-'90s 911. A friend had one when I was in collage, unexpectedly fun to drive. It's one of many cars I've considered owning over the years.
