outskirts of Lyon "in the woods"

I first saw this car in the Canadian Rockie Mountains. There was a sign in the back window that looked like "FOR SALE" at this distance.
This photograph was given to me several years later. The owner, Bernard Dubois wrote a little pun on the back... which (along with the Woodie panels) prompted me later to rename the car Tree CV
We were cycling through Canada at the time, so made a provisional deal to meet up again in Seattle a couple weeks later.
This is the first day we owned the car. It is next to the home of my mother, near Seattle, and my wife drove it (all by herself) down to San Jose, where we met and went to the Pebble Beach Concours.
Owning the car ignited an interest in and love for France.
And French women. The men are okay too. Here are Alice and Bernard who live in Mornant, near Lyon. And also Claudine. And their children. I think Claudine's big scary husband is taking the photo.
We became part of this group and traveled around Europe 5-6 times during the 80's and 90's. This is Bastille Day, somewhere near the sea, around 1988-89
Of course, we invited them to visit us too. This is in Switzerland, on my first and only non-watch trip. There have been many other visits, of course.
The whole group decided to come to America, and here we are in San Francisco, with a tall American blonde next to my wife whose name I have forgotten
And finally they all came and filled up my nieghborhood with 2CVs. I bought 4 of these...
Sigh
