What is the car you miss the most?
By: HighEndOne : November 15th, 2019-14:49
With my 65 th birthday coming up, I have been nostalgic of late. We all might have things from our past that we wish were still around. In the automotive segment, for me, this was the last installment of a 3-in-a-row SAAB 9000 series I went through. Why t...
1971 Alfa GTV
By: kkochheiser : November 15th, 2019-14:58
Just a perfect mix of grand touring, solid chassis, supple suspension and rock solid reliability (!). Selling it was a regret, but after moving to Arizona out of college the summers with no air conditioning and black upholstery were too much! A close seco...

a fellow Alfisti! I, too, miss my 105's. I still own them but they are in a country I rarely visit now.
I'm down to one myself...

The Duetto that started it all when my dad bought it new. Just sold my 101 Giulia Spider Veloce earlier this year, another regret.
The Duetto
By: batholith : November 15th, 2019-15:45
is a great start! So much character. Was the first I was introduced to, as well. A '67. Needs some work, though. I have the parts but just not there often enough or for long enough to start the work and see it through.
Three of them.

As HighEndOne says, I don't believe that came to the USA
By: JohnFM : November 16th, 2019-07:34
But what model and year is it? My 124 Sport Coupe was a 1973 with a 1600cc engine that sang like the wind, or maybe a well oiled sewing machine. Catalytic convertors were introduced in the USA the next year, so the cars from 1974 on were never quite the s...

By: Tim_M : November 15th, 2019-17:59
Five cylinders, turbocharged, direct injected, and 6-speed manual transmission. It sounded like the World Rally Championship and went like hell, but I had to sell it to support a friend's business that was on the rocks at the time. I'd love to get back in...

Mercedes E350
By: ZSHSZ : November 16th, 2019-01:01
My first Mercedes, stepping up after a long list of Volkswagens ... When I drove it I felt like I’m on the road alone , a real tank . Bought it new , put 150k miles in her and never a problem. At the time I was known for having a heavy foot but this car a...
9000
By: Jurry : November 16th, 2019-01:13
That Saab 9000 was one of my dream cars I couldn’t afford back then. I especially liked the 5th door model against the regular boot. Although I couldn’t own one, I have driven them occasionally and they were superb. Nice trip down memory lane (from a 60 y...

Bought it for a steal compared to prices in Europa
Both sides
By: Jurry : November 16th, 2019-04:52
I had the pleasure driving on both sides of the Atlantic. The 70’s 80’s US and European versions didn’t differ that much. Most notably differences: *. US versions 90% automatic Europe 90% manual. (Not for “sport” reasons but automatic gearbox was more exp...

So do you still have this? Always loved Saabs
By: everso : November 16th, 2019-03:41
It’s worth it to keep the cars you love. We live in a culture that tells us to sell the things we love to get newer things and I don’t think that is an adequate appraisal of the things in our lives! I think Saabs will be collectible in the future and yes ...
I regret that I did sell it to another SAAB enthusiast...
By: HighEndOne : November 16th, 2019-04:29
I was out of garage space, and the Mrs. is not too keen on manual gearboxes. That, and the fact that GM took over SAAB did it. After the string of SAAB's (3 for me and one for our son) I took a turn to the M-B world and I have enjoyed the ride. And yes, s...

5 speed manual w AWD. It was such a hoot to drive in all kinds of weather. Put summer tires on for the good months and it was just so much fun. Put winter tires on for the snow, and I could get through just about anything mother nature threw my way.
