My new familycar ;-)

Well kind of, it has 4 doors and 5 seats ... but drives like nothing (almost) i have experienced before.

Renault Megane RS 280 EDC.
1,8 litre turbo with 280 hp and double clutch gearbox, i honestly have to admit i like the sound, gearbox and engine of this car. The chassis is simply stunning with 'simple' but very effective solutions like 4 wheel steering, perfohub suspension, hydraulic bumpstops, 355 mm Brembo brakes and calipers.

A very nice addition to my 2 liter naturally aspirated Clio RS.

This doesn't feel like a hatchback ....

... on a straight ... but the 4 wheel steering makes it so nimble ... a true grown-up hot hatch

Edgy....

design coupled with what is sure to be an edgy ride . I like Renaults, my best friend from Belgrade has a 4-5 year old diesel Megane with MT and I always thought it was totally lovely. Enjoy it thoroughly, cheers, Filip

Cool! I really like the Megane RS ...

... too pity the French manufacturers constantly shy away from 4wd, and a station wagon version of the Megane RS would have been extremely cool. How is the double clutch? I am not overly happy with mine in the Volkswagen and do miss my manual shift stick ...

4WD takes the driving experience awat i guess.

Renault let's the rear wheels steer along and then the perfohub front suspension and limited slip differential (cup chassis) give this car enough traction. The chassis is like my Clio set up in a way there is a very healthy dose of lift-off oversteer poss...

Are you my sponsor ?

Yes the Alpine .... i fear that could be my next car in a near future. But in the mean time i already have a lot of friends thatvare about to order one .... Ifnthis Megane is already that good and joyfull .... the A110 will be a blast.

Those that judge it better than a Cayman ...

 By: bimbeano : May 20th, 2018-03:31
.... probably understand the meaning of driving pleasure. The Alpine weighs 1100 kilos and the Cayman at least 1360 or so, Porsche is known for their fabulous suspension setup (that is if you at least tick some extra boxes) but Renaultsport (Alpine) knows...

Congratulations!

I have been lurking at the UKMarket for a RHD one for years. But i already have 6 vehicles and a few extra at loan .... The only Clio MK2 i have tried was a 65 hp diesel and i already had loads of fun, what a chassis 😳. I fear if i will have a 172/182 i w...

That's a cool fleet!

Congratulations on your new edition. The amount of enthusiast-driver technology that Renault has invested in this practical platform is impressive. I'm rather shocked by the cross section of the tire sidewalls, however. Are the roads in Belgium that well ...

Roads in Belgium are dreadfull unfortunately.

But we have the most dense road network of the world so there's many too choose from and eventually you will find a good one .... Or a very bad one ifnyou're unlucky . But as you say the driver technology is impressive indeed. The hydraulic bumpstops made...

the hot-hatch to have was the Golf II GTI 16V with 139HP and my dreamcar was the 911/964 with an incredible 250HP, nowadays a hot-hatch reaches almost the 300HP mark.. Where are we going to? Our children's children will have 600HP Clio's?? Can't wait to s...

When i got my 1988 Jetta 2 1.8 back in 1987 i was dreaming of putting in a lightweight 500 hp detuned F1 V10 engine, combined with the 920 kilo kerbweight it would have made a fantastic crazy driverscar 😁. But alas i didn't have the funds or knowledge (LO...

Imagine in 10-15yrs the luxury of driving will be gone

 By: Ravenart : May 22nd, 2018-05:26
Our next generation will not even know the joy of owning a vehicle or having a license. Automakers are steering towards self driving cars, and when the car is not in your possession at the moment it is off self driving another owner. 😳

There still are some issues.

 By: bimbeano : May 22nd, 2018-05:38
For the moment nobody want to take responsibility concerning autonomous cars. What happens if a self driving BMW runs over somebody ? Lawsuits lawsuits lawsuits .... . I guess that eventually in 30 to 50 years from now ALL cars will be autonomous, and hop...

If it can happen now ... it can happen in the future as well.
