My 356 has been incredibly reliable for the past 20 years but I believe the Italia would be equally reliable, being fitted with an old-school Ford 351 V8.

As far as affordable, they usually sell for about the same as 356C coupes in similar condition, so it may be expensive for a toy that would rarely be driven, but not unrealistic. I know if I were able to convince my wife to let me buy it she would make me sell the 356 to pay for it. I can't blame her...I'm getting too old to be laying under 50 year old cars on the weekend.

Never heard of and definitely never seen this car... regarding a happy marriage... a loving wife can be very understanding of a man's 'weaknesses'... providing it is for cars and not flesh... BUY IT IF YOU LOVE IT.
go for it
