Missing my weekend hillclimbs

I didn't realize there was an automotive section here; so glad there's one because the only thing I love more than watches, is driving ;-)

As we move into a third strict lockdown in my part of the world, I'm left missing my Sunday drives. Pre-pandeminc, it was my routine to head up to the hills, most time solo although occasionally with friends, for my simple breakfast. While we have some great driving roads, my go-to is the one that is closest to home (via Ulu Yam towards Gohtong Jaya); which meant I could head up for breakfast at 7am and be home by 10am. I drive an F30 330E (yes, hybrid!) and this is my first time in a RWD car, having come from from 2 previous GTIs. Many have the impression that the 330E was too heavy and wouldn't drive well, but my experience was otherwise. Yes, the car is definitely on the heavy side, but my goodness can those brakes take a beating. I didn't bother tuning or tweaking the car, and the only significant change I made was to swap out the run-flats to a set of Michelin PS4.

Between 2020-2021, I've only had the chance to head up 5 or 6 times; a stark contrast to my average of 40 runs per year! I truly miss driving. Sadly, after 3 years, 41,812km and several sets of tyres and pads later, I have said goodbye to my trusty 330E. We've been on many adventures together (both up north and down south from where I live), as well as countless weekends of gutsy driving up in the hills, carving corners and hanging out with the bigger boys.

My initial plan was to get a used F82 M4 but, with the arrival or a little one, a more practical car seemed the better option. So long as I'll still be able to have fun driving ;-)

And some driving reels (don't judge!).

997.2 Turbo holding spectacular values these days. No, not 2-door for me. I went with another Beemer sedan, except ditched the hybrid for a conventional 4 cyl turbo.
