I finally tried it! Alpine Renault A 110.
By: amanico : September 12th, 2020-16:52
The re edition, not the original. But what a car! I could test drive it for one hour and a half in the small roads near Deauville. I will get one, one day. That's for sure. I will write something about it, as soon as possible. Best, Nicolas ...
Looking forward to your report

The lack of a manual gearbox is a deal breaker for me but looking forward to reading your comments.

I always liked those Alpine and the Gordini too ;-) A dealer friend made me try this A110 2nd generation I find it provides serious feelings while being very joyful, a real road karting but more comfortable ;-). My only regret was my size. Be careful thou...

Sparkle brand new from the dealership in Hammersmith (London), drove right up to Ayr in Scotland, stayed overnight and back on the road up to Aberdeen, well this was the destination. So my friend and I were talking away, we passed Saint Andrews and near a...

I drove it for comparison and

the difference in weight makes the difference in agility for the 4C; the Alpine is less raw and not that stressful for the driver I would rather place the Alpine with a Cayman in the same cluster
I have to disagree with the Cayman / A110 comparison.
By: bimbeano : September 19th, 2020-15:57
That Cayman feels like a mammoth, due to it’s stiffer suspension it offers a load of grip. Last month two friends of me took their A110s to the track, one standard A110 with semi slicks and the other was an A110 S with 100% stiffer suspension. Power about...

The S is has a 100% stiffer suspension, makes it a lot faster .... in the bendies 😃

Car design 'whatever'
By: Mostel : September 18th, 2020-16:33
Sorry Nicolas... Specs 'whatever' in case you may seek an alternative view... this car does nothing for my eyes or my mind... I don't like it on any level... fwiw...
You got bitten now !
By: bimbeano : September 19th, 2020-15:48
A car in its own, incomparable with anything else on the market, 4C and Elise/Exige are too raw, a Cayman weighs 300+ kilos more and feels IMO very blunt compared to the A110. About the brakes i had the same feeling, but actually once you get used to the ...
