911 advantages; more space, more comfort, that back seat space is a great place for putting things like luggage, more gentlemanly, and more grand touring oriented. The Boxster was perceived to be a less expensive starter Porsche. And the Cayman, being a Boxster derivative, suffered from that. But there are advantages for mid-engine cars. Look at Ferrari and McLaren and Lamborghini - their sports cars are almost all mid-engined (Ferrari has some front-engined cars, but most of those front-engined Ferraris are often considered grand tourers and not sports cars). Lamborghini's Miura started the whole mid-engined concept! Honestly, an Audi A5 or a BMW 4-series coupe is a great grand touring car. It's super comfortable. Reliable. Just a great machine - but not extremely emotional. Just don't get a diesel - two door cars should always be petrol! I always said, if Porsche said they'd make a 500 horsepower Cayman, that I'd be interested. Well, I see the Cayman GT4 RS is that 500 hp Cayman, but at $180,000, plus tax/license would be $200,000 USD in USA, it's just so close to a Lamborghini Huracan, that I'm thinking the Huracan is a better deal.
