I'm curious how many of those who voted 'yes' to a fake Porsche would also vote 'yes' to a fake Rolex.

It's interesting to me because a while ago on one of the Porsche forums members were discussing fake cars, with almost everyone saying a fake Porsche, at least if badged as a Porsche, is unacceptable, simply something meant to deceive. But most of those same people said they don't mind if someone has a fake Rolex, usually saying something like, "that doesn't matter, it's just a watch no matter what the cost".
I think it all depends on what you're passionate about. If that's a specific make or model car, you're unlikely to agree a fake of that car is okay, and if that passion is for Rolex, you most likely won't accept a fake Rolex.
But I would find it difficult to argue with a watch collector accepting a fake car if they also accept a fake watch, same for a car collector accepting both fakes.
From what I've read here in the past, most of you would not accept a fake watch, be that a Rolex, PP, AP, JLC, etc. And I agree with that.
I'm just amused at how different groups view the subject of fakes--it seems to be determined by what's being faked and who's looking.
And homage pieces don't count, that's a whole different category in both watches and cars--a homage does not label itself as real.
