Some will say that the golden era for cars are the 40's and the 50's... I for one think it is the 60's. Here are some dream cars. Ok, you won't be surprised, the Volvo P 1800: The Jaguar E Type: The Porsche 356: The Ferrai Dino 246 GT: And... The Alpine A...

For me, pretty much all the Alfa and Lancia

So, on a semi-unrelated note (and jumping ahead 50 years), what are your thoughts on the current Alfa Romeo Giulia? ...

But I have to add at least these three to the list: Toyota 2000GT (photo - Toyota) Bill Thomas Cheetah (photo - Hemmings) Intermecaanica Italia (photo - Vintage Race Car) Of these three, I've considered trading the 356 for an Italia coupe but they're diff...

I looked at an Italia for sale in 1978, my first year in collage, and have been in love with them ever since.

At the time the owner thought it was worth far more than it actually was so we couldn't made a deal. I've looked for one every so often over the years but have never been able to find one for sale that didn't need too much bodywork.

Exactly! The destroyer of dreams! Especially for a car like the Italia, where body panels would have to be custom formed. There's no such thing as after market parts for these cars.

For the 356 however, you can literally build an entire car with repro chasse and body panels. I was lucky with my 356 that the body and chasse had almost no rust at all.

Undoubtedly 1960 - 1970 The Best of the Best Decade [nt]
