My biggest beef with the 911 is I always think of it more as a GT because of it's size and ability to eat up miles. But every review I read mentions fairly high road noise, which takes it right out of consideration for me. When I do a jaunt up to Napa or ... 

A little extra sound deafening would go a long way. It's not terrible until you hit the wrong road surface for a bunch of miles while on a conference call that you realize part of the legendary 911 practicality is lost to high cabin noise

...as it seems to be mentioned in almost every review. I would definitely make this a part of my test drive as California has terrible road surfaces. And I mean really awful...

Manual, light weight. My 992 carrera t is as fast as I need for my roads

Yeah they look nice but the ride is less ideal

...and not have your fillings shaken loose...

In a nutshell, the chassis is too stiff for many roads. It’s still a beautiful car.

Can option for free PASM (raised)/ non-sport height. But in general cars are getting too low, too firm and too fast for me on the roads

But it's not just Porsche, all the new Ferrari's have lost the appeal to me as well.

I am debating going with a huracan evo just to get a NA v10. 🤷 also toying with getting a ski house an hour away so one or the other 😅

You feel like you always have to be there to justify the expense. We have one and we only used it 5 times last year not too mention all the upkeep costs. Been contemplating putting it on the market just to test the waters. If it sells it sells if it doesn... 

For one my wife is indifferent, would rather stay in town as we always have something on the weekend. Then in addition if we aren't going to it, easier/cheaper to just go to a resort and not have the hassle. TBD for now.

Now she wants all her vacations and the house. I'm like pick one or the other already as paying for both does not make sense.

Purple over purple is a dream color for me. Add the mechanical overhaul. This is a marvel for sure! How does it compare to 993 turbo (iirc you have one?)

Can't compare the drive as the purple one I bought for my dad and it quickly went into the shop to get sorted. Had my 993 turbo for about 3 weeks and then sent it in to get that sorted as well as it had the turbos leaking. Vintage is another animal every ...

I miss my 997s, but, am loving my Boxster, alleged purists by damned 😂 My slightly over 300hp keeps me in check, and I love the mid-engine, and actually like driving it more, but, certainly appreciate the 911, it is such a gorgeous beast!
