Absolutely!

Many years ago I bought a limited edition Civic Type R and did not test drive it as the car was in Scotland. The car was sold out everywhere else. The type R was great but my then wife, started feeling sick in it as the ride was way too hard. I had to sell the car within a fortnight but thank goodness, I recouped almost all my money as it was a sought after car! I have little doubt you will love the C43 Coupe with its compact dimensions and effortless acceleration. And the engine burble of an AMG is always intoxicating. Hey Nico, I have not talked about cars for a long time and you have just woken up a sleeping car addict!! smile

Aston Martin V8. Some old pictures to feed dreams.

 By: amanico : November 19th, 2018-02:23
DB9, DBS, DB whatever you want... They are all fantastic cars. But I would be more than happy with the Aston Martin V8. Very Aston, nice motor, powerful enough, great body. What's not to like? Aaah, yes, I would like a manual gear box... And probably a di...

Good choice [nt]

IMHO

 By: Gelato Monster : November 20th, 2018-09:35
Jaguar F Type is damn more gorgeous than any non zagato AM

DBS and Vantage definitely available with manual gearbox...

 By: patrick_y : November 19th, 2018-03:28
I'm fairly certain the DBS and Vantage are available with a manual gearbox. I've personally driven both the DBS and Vantage with a manual gearbox in the USA. Haven't driven them in Europe though, but I imagine they produced manual cars for European market...

My last car in the UK

Your photos bring back fond memories

A great car in that

 By: sham1 : November 19th, 2018-09:07
it gave one a feel good factor even before starting the engine. One of the most perfect shapes ever in my opinion together with the Ferrari Dino. UK roads are not the widest so the width of the car is just about the maximum one would want in a car. The ne...

I had it for 5 years

the longest I had owned any car so far. What acceleration! Bullet proof reliability!! It was so good, I was even tempted to upgrade to CLK63 AMG or a black series but the price differential was too great for the small gains. Go try one Patrick! Best barga...

Great choice Nico!

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-00:34
I love the C43 range as it makes so much more sense that the C63s and the Coupe is a lovely looking car. My only qualm is the satellite navigation display that looks like an add on as it is not as integrated into the dashboard as in the E and S classes. O...

For the money Nico

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-02:45
I don't think you can get a better new car. Yes some people may scream Porsche Cayman S or GTS but the C43 can carry four people in comfort and is a better bet than offerings from BMW, Audi and Jaguar.

No contest to be honest Nico.

The quality of the engine and the design of the interior shines through!

The TT in any generation

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-09:19
has a lovely interior and exterior. Very solid but the current Mercedes range mixes style with build quality.

Dealers seldom

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-19:09
keep a C43 as a demonstrator as the demand is so strong. It is like me trying to view a RW Smith watch before buying one!!

Great endorsement!

 By: patrick_y : November 20th, 2018-00:59
I've got the supercharged 4 door version. But I like the lighter, naturally aspirated 2 door version, or the super rare C55 that was only made from 2005-6 was a nice car too! As you mentioned; great acceleration, great reliability.

AMG has finally achieved its rightful place.

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-02:01
My dream had always been the SLS AMG and after two test drives, I still could not part with my watches as that was the only way I could afford one!

I'd like an SLS too...

 By: patrick_y : November 20th, 2018-10:40
I haven't driven one. But the long hood, the gullwing doors, and the design is a future classic! It's an incredible design!

I thought initially it was a bit wide

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-19:07
but it is actually so easy to drive. It remains my dream car!

I have a strange feeling Patrick

 By: sham1 : November 22nd, 2018-19:04
that you might be able to afford one way before me. In addition, it would be the perfect car for California with its wide roads!! Buy one and I may have to make a special trip to visit you

My next car will be electric!

 By: patrick_y : November 23rd, 2018-01:06
And shockingly (pun intended), a Tesla is faster than a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG! I'll let you know when I get an SLS. They're hard to come by. And I only want a gullwing version (non roadster). I drive the supercharged E55 AMG currently, it's a great car to...

Definitely the gull wing!

 By: sham1 : November 23rd, 2018-03:31
Not sure why anyone would buy the roadster because part of the attraction is the gull wing! No Tesla for me - the reliability is questionable and it is not so much outright speed but the way the speed is delivered that matters. The V8 of the SLS really ne...

I had not expected the BRZ to be as good as it is

 By: sham1 : November 19th, 2018-18:54
and I will say that of all the cars I have owned (over 40 in 30 years), it ranks a commendable second after the NSX!! Go try one Nico - for me, it is a keeper!

If you are not a badge snob Nico

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-00:31
this car makes a compelling choice. For me it is one of the most under rated cars currently being sold. Many moan about the lack of outright speed and the low torque levels but they miss the point entirely. The way the car delivers the power and its near ...

I do receive you 5 / 5. [nt]

 By: amanico : November 20th, 2018-01:31

Was it so obvious?! :-)

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-02:02
Now for the only minus point - the rear seats are useless even for midgets!!

So true!

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-02:43
The BRZ or the C43 AMG would be a hoot to drive on a narrow country road!!

I like to leave the car the way it was intended to be

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-08:55
I know some people enjoy modifying their cars and their watches (strap changes for example) but I love to keep things as original as possible. 200bhp is enough for me

What is 'organic' Nico?! :-)

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-09:20
Changing the exhaust perhaps?!!

Now I understand

 By: sham1 : November 20th, 2018-19:06
what organic in a car means Thank you!

:)))))) [nt]

 By: amanico : November 23rd, 2018-02:04

..........and other colours inside. Looks like a tuning car. Outside it looks also poor, something between Ford Vignale and AM.

 By: Walter2 : November 19th, 2018-05:05
The old one is an AM pure. The point is, you see every design mistake on a white car. This car had no mistakes, it is perfect!

Thanks, Walter. [nt]

 By: amanico : November 19th, 2018-06:15

I like the car, but more with the V12

 By: dedestexhes : November 19th, 2018-06:21
It is a GT, not a real performant sports car, too heavy, certainly for cornering, it is just no match at all for any 911. I didn't drive with the new V8 Vantage yet. I'm thinking about the Vanquish rather, I think it has the more beautiful lines. Also a G...

Try it with the V12 engine.. sublime

Mmmmmmmmm........

Nice cars Nico But

Did you ever consider 911s ? Perfect size,Reliability, drive and will never looks old (Any of the models)

I am a big fan of the 911. Fun and very reliable.

 By: JerryW : November 23rd, 2018-19:07
My wife has a Targa. My only complaint is it feels like a small car compared to my California T and my brothers AM Vanquish. I am trying to decide which car to sell, both 2015, Targa has 3,400 miles and California T has 24,000 miles. I think the Targa wil...

I have been driving the Targa for the past two days.

 By: JerryW : November 25th, 2018-09:59
Has been fun, maybe I will keep it. It is definitely more reliable than the F car.

But wait.

You have my favorite AP Jumbo. All is well.
