This version of the Aston Martin was designed by Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker. To my eyes, this era of design including the Vantage/DB9/DBS/Vanquish are the most beautiful Aston Martin created. The Vantage is especially nicely proportioned and drives quite well. I specifically recommend a 2015 GT or N430 model because these models were outfitted with a nicer steering rack (slightly faster ratio) and a revised suspension that was even better tuned than before. The 2015 and later years are the best years of the Aston Martin Vantage. The engine is also very robust, melodic, and has a true dry sump lubrication system. What a machine! It's not as technically excellent as a Porsche. And perhaps the best combination of charm and technical excellence is the Lamborghini Huracan - lots of personality and lots of technical excellence. But the Aston Martin Vantage 2015 GT version is much more emotional with its amazing baritone charm. The Porsche is a ballerina dancer who cannot sing. The Lamborghini is a ballerina dancer who is a powerful Alto singer. And the Aston Martin 2015 Vantage GT is a famous tenor, like Pavarotti, who we probably don't imagine would dance quite as well as a trained ballet dancer (at one point he weighed 396 pounds or 180 kilos), but it is a wonderfully emotional driving experience. I once said the Lamborghini Huracan was the best sports car, it was emotional, fun to drive, and technically excellent; and super reliable (it's partially an Audi). But I said that and drove the Aston Martin Vantage, back-to-back, and while the Vantage wasn't quite as technically excellent, it did have a slightly better steering feel than the Lamborghini Huracan. And... while the Lamborghini would sing the opera very well, the Vantage's sound brought a tear to one's eye. Imagine Pavarotti playing Pagliacci in that most famous act in Pagliacci. Unbeatable.
