Aston Martin DB7. An old love of mine.
Keep in mind that we are in 1993 / 1994, here, and that we were used to some brutal design for Aston Martin cars, just before the DB 7 was unveiled.
So you can imagine my reaction when I saw this car in the newspapers, in 1993.
It first came with a 6 Cylinders and Compressor engine, and since 1999 or 2000 with a 12 Cylinders.
Here it is:
And now, the 12 Cylinders from Year 2000.
What about a GT / GTA with a handful of extra HP? Here, the GTA from 2004.
Nowadays, some will say that this is not the most graceful Aston and they will probably be right, but still, I find it has some charm, and it still attracts me.
For the pickiest of us... A pure marvel, a pure dream car for me, the DB7 Zagato, made in 99 pieces, in 2003.
The Interior too is worth some interest. It is giving me some ideas for my... Alpine...

That engine was HEAVILY reworked....
It is not, as often portrayed, just two Ford V6 engines 'slapped together'. I read the whole story on the development on that V12 engine, and it is as authentic and inspirational as it gets! Cheers, Filip

I had a dark green 3.2 litres DB7
and it was so easy to drive. Yes it had a Jaguar engine but I did not mind. For me it was a gorgeous looking car and one that helped Aston survive in the 90s.
For me, one of the most important factors of owning a car
is the feel good factor that the car provides. The Aston had it in bucket loads!

My old love too . Wanted to buy one back then but when I tried to get behind the wheel in a showroom I noticed I didn’t fit in 😬
I was a bit to tall for the car . The tried a XK8 in the same showroom and that wasn’t a problem so I bought a Jaguar then . Still till today i love the DB7 design a lot and especially the Zagato 🤩👌🏻

At the time, - 2010/11 or so, I had a not so clever DB4 which was undergoing renovation after the previous owner let her go a bit. I used to travel frequently to Goldhawk Rd to visit Nicolas Mee & Co. They had a lovely DB7Zag which they were not shifting....
