I am keeping my 14-year old RS4 for the same reason. It rides on KW V3 coilovers.

Looking forward to getting these on the vehicle. Install scheduled for Monday. Ohlins Road & Track DFV coilovers. Should be a very noticeable improvement, and ratchet up the fun factor. Cheers, John ...

That is some really serious hardware πŸ‘

Should be good fun!

Very nice. V8s unite! We are of like mind, for sure.

And I have heard many good things about the KW V3 coilovers, also a popular suspension for the E9X M3.

My dynosaur is 6-speed manual

Is yours a manual or DCT? Old Picture ...

Nothing wrong with DCT πŸ‘

LOL! DYNOsaur! My first time reading that one! Nice RS4. That's a serious piece of kit!

Beautiful machine. I have a 2006 E55 AMG. It's automatic, not manual (almost all AMGs for USA market are automatics). While it's not a perfect machine; steering ratio is slow (I prefer a faster ratio so less turning the wheel), steering feel is lacking, b...

I was hoping someone would catch that... LOL!

It's one way to differentiate the dinosaur from our cars.

Another excellent car!

Calm beast. What wheel is that?

OEM, what came with the car.

Bygone era indeed.

I feel like I should be referring to 30 or 50 years ago using that terminology, even if the E9X M3 platform was retired only in 2013. But it is accurate. Very few naturally aspirated high performance cars being made now, the GT3 being one of the few remai...

Ah! My other soon to become a dynosaur...

Unless Ted makes me trade it in for a Subaru...πŸ˜‚ ...

Because it's more fluid in every way

Torque at any RPM, gear selector goes where you point it without hesitation, sounds like a million bucks and the KW does a lot of magic to the car. Just an all-around versatile performer whereas the GT3 requires a lot more concentration for every move you...

Makes sense. Overall driving experience certainly trumps specifications.

I have the same feeling comparing newer, faster cars versus older but more engaging slower cars.

Very true but our V8's are no slouch either.

The latest M3 is a little sterile.

 By: patrick_y : January 2nd, 2021-19:59
Great seat and great brakes. The steering wasn't bad at all, but not as good as the E92 steering. Very competent car, fairly comfortable too, just doesn't feel as "exciting" nor "raw" as an M car should.

Interesting comparison!

Wonderful!

 By: amanico : January 2nd, 2021-22:54

Looking forward to it!

Very nice machine...

The S85 is a very charming engine, especially with the DCT transmission. I assume you're going to eventually change out your rod bearings? The steering on the E92 M3 (I haven't driven the 4 door as much as I've driven the 2 door) is amongst the best steer...

Inside knowledge you have there :)

 By: vitalsigns : January 2nd, 2021-21:43
Yep, rod bearings fully fixed a few years ago. Plan to keep it for the long haul. A practical family sedan πŸ˜€

Lots of fun!

Ten years from now, I'll still like the E9X M3. As it's still a very emotional car. Likely the last of the emotional M3s.

Indeed.

As good as electric cars are, I just love the sound of a mighty 8/10/12 cylinder car starting up.

And, the V3 is not cheap either offering...

A great ride quality and handling especially on R-compound tires.

totally agree KWV3 is one of the best

regarding price, I think we purist are the most expert about price vs value correlation. ROTFL

Hahaha... ;)

πŸ˜… Serious stuff you got there !

 By: bimbeano : January 4th, 2021-11:25
Back in 2014 i put KW V1 on the Clio, not bad but from the start i felt they weren’t a lot (if at all) better than the satndard setup. Anyway, congrats ! And don’t forget to do a separate post once they are fitted ! Bim

Please keep us posted!
