Any E30 fans out there?

Giving the car a baseline wash and waiting for the ceramic coating to arrive! Much more work to be done, but always a pleasure spending time with this one. Thanks, Brian ...

Is that an Msport, what is the engine displacement, in line 6 or 4 cylinder?

Looks in great shape, must be a joy to drive? 😎 Cheers. 🍻 Geross

First generation, with a high revving 2.3L four cylinder. Underpowered by today’s standards but needs some mindfulness to keep it high in its peak power band, which is rewarding when done successfully. It’s also very neutral handling, so good for novices ...

Beautiful! Was my dream car forever, never found a price I could get in at 😵

E24 m6 euro, E28 M5, E34 M5, z4m coupe, had some great M cars and still never could find my way into an E30 M3, it's always been hard to find a good one. Your E30 looks great, drive in good health!

Thank you

I sort of lucked into this one; my brother bought is almost 20 years ago to go club racing, but those plans got out on hold and the car was basically only used for driving schools around Laguna Seca. Over time it got passed to me as he moved on to others,...

You're so lucky! Take good care of that E30!

It's a Goldilocks car. IMHO it's perfect, all the feel and feedback of an older sports car with just enough of the modern conveniences and reliability you need to drive it forever. What I miss most about the E30 was the greenhouse - real windows and a doo...

Cecotto & Ravaglia

The Johnny Cecotto and Roberto Ravaglia versions will be expensive. I liked the convertible the most. Although repairing the electro-hydraulic roof wasnt the best. But I was younger then and not so experienced...

both the Sport Evo and Evolution II are the best from each brand [nt]

better than every next generations from each brand

you mean E36 M3?

 By: Gelato Monster : April 29th, 2020-00:00
IMHO the S54 M engine is arguably one of the 6 cylinder best engine ever. The next best 6 Cylinder in my personal feeling would be the BMW N54 Engine of BMW 1M/335 or RB26DETT ( and its derivative RB28, etc) from the Skyline GTR Godzilla, But they both ar...

The engines may be ok but the injection systems????

 By: milwatch1 : May 11th, 2020-11:10
The later engines may be better (apart from S54 big end bearings/bolts) but later injection systems aren't the best. Injectors, coils, HP pumps. Emission regs are driving everything

I honestly cannot tell you

 By: penfriend : April 28th, 2020-08:07
last time I drove the E30 was in the late 80ies (for my US drivers license) - so I really cannot recollect that The overall handling is nice and solid for cruising curvy roads but no comparison to aged or modern sports cars. Its charm develops with opened...

Nice car, but i never dreamed about the brand. The i8 is a nice M1 i want as a collectors item. I dream about owning a collection of Porsche cars. I want a Carrera, gt3, gt2, targa, a 928, a Panamera, Macan for the weekends, a 911 air cooled, a 911 gt3 R...

Understandable

 By: bchankai : April 28th, 2020-06:50
I think BMW makes a lot of cars for a lot of different purposes. Especially in the last 20 years, one could argue that it has lost a bit of focus on “the ultimate driving machine” and pivoted to luxury with some bit of performance (not that the cars prior...

Let’s talk about cars

Great Brian, I can talk about cars with u. BMW make some good models like the X2 en 2 series. The 4 serie is also good. We all know the X5 and unorthodox X6. The X6 i have no complains. I like new ways that could be walk. Porsche and Honda are for me the ...

Oh man, making those analogies is such a hard conversation! So loaded with emotion, and the company stories are so individual that there’s always going to be some degree of breakdown. Having said all that, I totally understand the logic of your comparison...

Epic car in its day. People loved it and respected it. Modern tyres would make a big difference as it had an unpredictable point of no return when provoked, especially in the wet 😱

Great cars the E30 M3. Time has moved on technologically speaking but they're a classic now. The F80 won't age as well....

I like this
