The E55 indeed isnt a ideal track car but the fact i wasnt expecting anything made up for it. You have to treat it like a lady i guess πŸ˜‚.

Driving in Europe .... hmmmm .... where i live it is quite dramatic, speed limit on the highway is 120 kph, you can go faster sometimes and hope some idiot will not try to ram you off the road. We have so many cameras, actually in a radius of 50 miles around my house you’ll find the highest concentration of speed cameras ... and they just strted because within 5 years EVERYTHING will be registered here. I feel like living in the USSR back in the 80ies.
Honestly i have more fun driving my 60 hp Fiat Panda in Israel than my fabulous French hatches over here in Belgium. If i want to have fun i have to go to France, Germany or the Belgian Ardennes, but all are at least an hour and a half drive from my house  ... if i’m lucky πŸ˜’.

Several years ago i tried the Model S P85d with 700 hp or so. Acceleration was bonkers and handling was pretty good as well .... but after about 5 miles i started to get bored, even driving it fast. The model 3 should be more involving as i understood, no doubt one day a manufacturer will succeed in making an electric fun car .... it’s all about weight, steering, braking, handling, noise .... .

Since we are talking about older M-B's...

Here are two from my garage. I have had them both since they were practically new. The CLK55 had 6,000 miles on it, and the E55 had 5,000 miles on it. They are both teenagers now. LOL And I still love them both dearly. All the best... HEO ...

IMHO best 4 eyed version Mercedes

The newer generations are not like this, classic yet authentic vertical oval

Two great and iconic cars imo .

youtu.be I tried my friends E55 on several occasions and was always amazed, even on the track a 911 Turbo had difficulties overtaking me.

I'm sure that the Turbo driver was not able to match your skill...

Or this is a much older Turbo, probably older than a 996.

It was a 997 convertible.

Dont underestimate the E55 😁

The E55 is great in a straight line or on the Autobahn. Personally I don't like it in the curves.

There's a bit of dive under braking. Significant body lean in the curves. Steering doesn't have a lot of feel. Brake pedal feel is artificial (computerized braking system). Transmission only has 5 speeds and the gear ratios are very far apart. It's geared...

The Model 3 is fairly fun...

Model 3 is a fun car. Soul-less, but fun. Braking is much better than Model S, steering more direct ratio and even tighter steering rack BUT NO FEEL in the steering at all, pedal placement is still bad (hinged up, not hinged on the floor), otherwise good ...

Both very nice! Enjoy! [nt]
