Nice. I usually get the green Gremlin from the back lot for a loaner.

My car is late...

But the Porsche dealer offered a free courtesy car to bridge the gap, hopefully mine will arrive by end of August! I don’t like this spec but love the ride! Much much more engaging than my current RS4 in spite of the identical power output. Now imagine if...

That’s great service from the dealer.

What are the specs on this that you don’t like compared to your incoming car?

same car, both are Carrera S (rwd)

specs i don't like on this one: - color combination (body and wheels) - interior is base trim with very few option (lots of plastic, looks similar to a 30K Audi - automatic transmission Mine will be a different blue (shark blue), different wheels (RS Spyd...

Agreed, those are considerable differences.

Looking forward to seeing your beauty, and to you enjoying it in the best of health.

Your spec sounds fantastic!

I like cars that I wouldn't normally spec as temporary cars. I nearly leased a "flame orange" Aston Martin at one point. It lets me live a bit on the cutting edge without owning it! Gold wheels on a temporary car is definitely a plus for me!

Pretty cool picture! What model are you getting?

The 911 is one of the best cars ever made. The new version tics all the boxes.

Looking forward to seeing pics of yours when it comes in!

That is pretty generous of your dealership.

They always give me a loaner Taycan or Macan when I drop off my cars and forget getting a loaner for a build even if it's late.

I would be happy with this spec

with a manual transmission. I love the somewhat historic black-gold combo ...

I'm sure I'm in the minority here.

but I prefer PDK over manual. The shifts are seamless, it's all around quicker and nearly impossible to grenade an engine on the track. Also I like being able to have a coffee in one hand and not worry about rowing gears with my other hand. And in stop an...

That’s my understanding, that the traffic patterns of where one lives would impact the choice of manual.

A lot of stop and go can interfere with the enjoyment of a ride. I just don’t know where that line gets drawn.

Good for you...

You can drink coffee in any car with an automatic transmission. The 911 doesn't even have decent cupholders.

Ain't that the truth. And it's not like they are known for an air soft ride so bumps and spills are common unless you are physically holding your cup.

Trick is drink it down far enough so it is not at the brim, then sip and enjoy. Coffee and Alcantara is not a good mix.

Same here, I prefer PDK over manual too. It's blasphemous to prefer an automatic over a manual, but at least we're a little faster in reality!

I don't drink coffee. But I still like having PDK, just because it shifts better, smoother, and faster than I can. Especially on the downshifts it heel/toe and rev-matches better and more accurately than I can.

Throw some miles on that piece !

The 911 gets never old…

…but with every new generation ever more desirable. Wish you lot of fun and joy with this exciting sports car.
