I’m not an ex F1 employee but I am connected with the “inside” world of F1. I am told that Alonso can be a difficult person within a team and that can count against him. He is a good driver but he will not be remembered in the same way as Ayrton.
For me the choice whom I admire/respect as an F1 driver is primarily driven by a) facts b) performance/talent
The rest (eg difficult, capricious, etc) comes second. It would be different in terms whom liked more (Mika), but in terms of God given gift, the rest comes a distant second (apart from Ayrton)
