Unfortunately, or luckily perhaps, you can get them both only second hand in Europe! Subaru seems to have dropped completely coupé models and the GR Supra now replaces the GR 86.

The fist time I saw a Subaru BRZ, it was on a highway, in L.A some 8 years ago. I wondered what was this car, and paid some interest on it. Back in France, I started to do some researches about it, and found that it was a BRZ. And that Toyota had a clone ...

Yes, definitely a stunner both. My approval. 😊

Bang for your buck, sports car. But i think the Toyota 86 is slightly cheaper. But both winners. Geross.

I will see that.

They seem underappreciated here in the US, too.

I see one now and then but they really seem to have been slow sellers. Disappointing, because this is *such* a charming car. It might be that there's just a lot of market room for a small, sporty, handling-over-speed rwd these days... and that the Miata a...

What I think.

I bought a 2013 Subaru BRZ in 2012. It's still my daily driver. I love it. It's got very direct, tactile steering, a low center of gravity, great brakes and one of the best manual transmissions I've ever used. Better still it's inexpensive, efficient, tro...

I have a good friend with a GR 86...

he really enjoys it.

Well, it is basically the same engine as my Suburu Outback...

but with a bit more displacement 2.4 liter versus 2.0 liter. I really love the Boxer engine arrangement, fair less noise and vibration.

Thanks, John.

I had a go once in a Gt86

The 2 litre, new ones now are 2.4 litres. Very very fun car with great handling and enough power to have fun. What struck me was the lack of power compared to my also 2 litre NA Clio, which is a real beast compared to the gt86 enginewise. I wonder what th...

That 2.4 will give it such a better drive.

Might have been a better seller with more HP.

Will be interesting to see if the uprated engines in the latest iteration solves this problem.

Yes, this is THE question.

it's enjoyable

I have the 1st generation Toyota version. The car is reliable but requires some aftermarket parts "enchancements" to really give it a good feel. The 1st generation version had a notorious torque dip when shifting gears. Certain year models had a major Sub...
