If you can enjoy the car like you want it too ....

... take it for a fast drive now and then ...

And if it is your dream car ....
Why not ? You’ll probably have more than enough watches left in the drawer and on your wrist 😁.
I know you are a fan of the 996 and i also know they are fun to drive and i also saw your pictures, it looks unique and the GT3 look is crazy ! Maybe put a coil over suspension like a KW V3 and it will almost drive as well as a real GT 3 .

Dilemma

 By: SALMANPK : December 5th, 2019-11:55
Last night I stood for 3 hours talking to a friend of mine about his Porsche 996, what' so special about his 996 was that in 2001 an inexperienced person walked into a Porsche dealership and ordered a 996 Carrera with every single option available, down t...

 By: amanico : December 5th, 2019-12:13

Would you want to live in a 996, though? [nt]

By: India Whiskey Charlie : December 5th, 2019-12:15

No, And Here's Why...

 By: elliot55 : December 5th, 2019-12:14
... Cars are just cars. You drive them around, people open their car doors into your car door. Your car gets dinged. Sure, a Porsche is one of the best, but I'd rather drive my Audi into the ground and buy five more watches. Yes, that's my two cents.

That's a good point... [nt]

By: India Whiskey Charlie : December 5th, 2019-12:16

Nope...

 By: APOD : December 5th, 2019-12:24
If you think the service/repair cost for a watch is astronomical, checkout what it would cost to service a vintage Porsche.

Another good point. [nt]

By: India Whiskey Charlie : December 5th, 2019-12:29

No. I would sacrifice a watch for . . .

. . . Rolling Stones tickets, though. In London, of course. And first-class airfare. Of course, the Captain would have to be my guest of honor at our front-row seats. ...

Gotta wait for the UK tour announcement . . .

Ronnie Wood regularity frequents. He’s given them several of his paintings. It’s amazing what you can paint when you’ve had several Kgs of coke ;-))

the thing is out of the whole 911 series from inception till the 992, the 996 for me is the most unique design of them all, its my favorite, it came out the year I graduated from high school, its a bit of a time machine for me when I drive mine, maybe sac...

 By: berlin90 : December 5th, 2019-19:33
but it depends on if you will drive it and use it daily? 996 series had some things one needs to watch out for...and many people did not care for the pancake headlights....on the other hand they are a blast to drive but I believe the first series that was...

Conditionally, yes

 By: Tim_M : December 6th, 2019-05:56
As others have noted, I wouldn't trade a watch I love -- something permanent -- for a **daily driver.** Your daily driver is destined to be driven into the ground, worn out, and recycled. Conversely, if you're considering this 911 as an emotional choice o...

no, but a friend sold his 911 to buy a watch

I have to really think, I know I can't sacrifice the watch I love, so I have to look at pieces that are just sitting. Plus I already have a 996 which I love but this one is so special and unique...

What do you think....

whar are you gonna be more satisfied with, in a month, 12 months, 5 years? Were you planning to keep this watch for the next 5 years? what about the car? a watch is easier to store and wear, is that a parameter in your mind? And so on...

No

I owned a 996 C4S and sold it for a 997 C2S which was a significantly better made car with higher quality materials. In other words there are plenty of other and better 911’s out there to be bought.

Thank you for your feedback...

 By: SALMANPK : January 1st, 2020-16:10
I agree the 997 is a lovely car, the interior is so nice, I currently own a 996 Carrera 2 Cabriolet with a manual gearbox and zero options. Its very basic and simple and a lot of plastic. Even so the drive of the car is very pure and satisfying, I feel a ...
