I love my 6 speed manual Air-Cooled but the older i get, the more i appreciate the PDK, esp for city driving.
Then, real men do not know that technology can evolve
Perhaps smart men chose a Mercedes Benz.
Technology has nothing to do with choice of gearbox type...

For me technology is about going faster…going better…probably true with everything in life but I do lament the loss of some skills as I get ….not younger…
Maybe for a dedicated track car where speed can be done safely…

Very interesting question. I am in the camp of those who prefer manual gear boxes and not much assistance. My Alpine has an automatic gearbox, it is fast, good, but if I had the choice, I would have gone for manual.

Esp true where i live. Most new drivers here opt for an 'auto' only driving license.
So glad i managed to persuade my daughter to get a license that allows her to drive both manual and auto. As for driving aids, well my 930 has Turbo and seat belts.....
