Won’t be using the 3rd row much. Car seat in middle, older kids get windows. Need the width for 3 abreast.
Bought a minivan off a mate. Has a lot of miles. Will be used by nanny to schlep kids around to school and stuff. Also as an in-town beater car.
I know it sounds crazy but with 3 kids and 3 schedules for kids and parents busy, need flexibility on dropping off and picking up kids.
So looking at X7 or extra large SUV for those road trips where I don’t feel comfortable with a minivan with 100k miles.
And let’s be honest, I’m just looking for a nicer looking big “bus” that rides well. I may wear all my dive watches and actually dive...all the way to 140 feet (860 feet to spare ha ha) but I’m not going off road. Else I would buy a Land Cruiser or something. Most popular vehicle in Afghanistan.

Welcoming all opinion, analysis, comments on the BMW X7. Back story. Moving from Manhattan to Connecticut. I'm a City Gent. Always have been. I have lived my entire life spending my money on the finer things in life like watches, shoes, bespoke clothes, f...
I will pass on this request

Happy to comment on any type of vehicle as long as it is not an SUV... sorry These are just against the laws of physics and cannot be a good drive. My advice? Take the same vehicle, but with a normal ride height (i.e. Series 7 or the new S Class which see...

Yes, I am sure these are sold in the US but it is not a very popular model as it is not an SUV credit as per watermark ...

Theoretically you might be right by stating that a 4x4 has worse road handling capabilities then the comparable saloon. The higher body will probably result in a higher center of gravity thus theoretically less stable. But that’s just the mechanical eleme...
Everything is worse on an SUV (my point of view)
By: VinnieD : September 25th, 2020-09:31
Bigger tyres, bigger wheels, more weight, more suspension travel etc. not even talking about aerodynamics. I just find them offensive on the road. I drove an SUV at a young age on the highway and had the feeling of driving a fridge. The feeling has not le...

I just did a long search for my next vehicle.
By: M4 : September 24th, 2020-15:15
I looked at BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. I didn't like the X7 at all. If the M5 would've been practical for my needs, I likely would've bought it. It's an outstanding automobile. I ended up ordering an Audi SQ8. It, too, is just awesome. 8 cylinders, grea...
Well, with SUV number 2 in the drive I can think of nothing more American.
By: Jay (Eire) : September 24th, 2020-15:32
Do you really need two SUVs? No matter how much power they will have one still feels like a bus driver. Could you swing for suped up wagon? RS6 Avant, or the MB competitor. Do the kids really need a third row? Someone surely needs to take the short straw ...

It’s a luxurious ride
By: bchankai : September 24th, 2020-19:25
It’s analogous to the 7 series to 5 series, so more luxury features in a smooth, relatively good handling package that is very heavy and tall. The engine has power, but has to do a lot, so I don’t think anyone is going to tell you that it’s amazing off th...
You cannot go wrong with BMW's . . .
By: Jim14 : September 25th, 2020-09:43
They are well built cars that are very reliable. If you want something similar, but more driver-centric, try something 4WD from Porsche. My Macan drives about as well as the Cayman I had before it. All these German brands are reliable and that may be the ...
