These never made it across the pond, and it is a great shame. I have owned its predecessor the 1986 Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5 for 28 years and along with my Jeep Wrangler will never sell it. I bought it as a broke college student, to be a daily driver…I learned quickly that financially it was one of the dumbest moves a 21 year old could make. It was off the road often with this issue or that, nearly sold it a few times, but could never justify parting with it for what I was offered. When it was on the road however, it was the greatest driving experience I could ever imagine, and more than made up for its foibles. I realized even as garage furniture I loved it too much to part with it. Fast forward a few years and a couple of dollars and she is once again in great shape. During that time I learned a few things about working on cars, holding on to the things you love and that a twisty mountain road with the windows down is as much fun as you can have with your pants on. I love my Wrangler for the same reason, there is nothing better for what it was designed to do, and if there is it won’t tug your hart strings the same way.
