Environment vs sentiment

From an environmental point of view the EV’s are better etc etc etc.

But, and to me a big but, I agree it has no soul. You miss the roaring engine, that growl when you hit the accelerator.

I would talker the big gas guzzler now, before it ends up in a museum. Battery cars will wait

This is my kind of beast. Supercharged, 668 HP / 659 TQ. And available with a 6MT in the CT5-V Blackwing. * photo from AutoEvolution My good buddy Patrick recently told me I owe it to myself to drive a EV before committing to something like this. As luck ...

Good. Are you getting a manual CT5-V?

I do believe I am.

Probably Q1 next year. The chip shortage thing has things in flux, but that is my guess.

You know a thing or two about American power.

Gotta love it!

The CT5-V is getting killer reviews on a lot of car sites...

...it seems that it will be the last of a dying breed...V8, tons of horsepower, and a 6-speed manual...

The smiles are ear to ear on everyone who drives the car

It's exactly what I would want, a machine that provokes real emotion.

I'll fully admit, years of reading posts on this forum is impactful!

I have always openly stated I am a truck guy, not a car guy. But I have always wanted a nice car. I feel this particular car is exactly me. Much like I relate to The Freak in certain ways. This car is so audacious. Maybe not the fastest, maybe not the bes...

Not for me. I like weight :-)

That is a nice one Michael and I think I know what you mean regarding soul! My next car will be 100% electric but my current one is hybrid…

While I drive to the office full electric with my hybrid, I always enjoy just earring the v8 rumble in mine when I drive it in sports mode!

That's awesome. My other car is a truck :-)

Also made my the General, and also a 6.2L V8! The Sierra puts out 420 HP and 460 TQ. Wish it were supercharged!

I do love my truck. It will run to 60 in about 6 seconds

Not bad, certainly maneuvers easily through traffic. But I can also climb mountain hills with a 7000LB trailer and easily hold speed limits. I am more interested in e-trucks to be honest. The power numbers are crazy, and it seems they will be able to tow ...

It’s possible to enjoy both …

Hi Michael, Always good to see a traditional muscle car. Personally, I don’t see a problem with enjoying an EV and a V8. It’s just a question of what’s the right car for the job. I use a Tesla for most week days, it’s fast, quiet and good for pedestrians ...

I am certainly not anti-Tesla or anti-EV

I just feel e-cars are very vague. My purpose for wanting a car like this is solely for the driving experience. I don't see any comparison on the e-car in that regard, at least of in terms of the experience I am after. I guess that is the kind of special ...

Yes…

I’m lucky enough to have both options, which is the perfect situation. ...

'65 - last year . . .

. . . for The Fuelie.

Yep 👍 …

Disk brakes on a car in 65… and you need them !

Amen to that sentiment regarding ICE vehicles!

No message body

It will be interesting to see how coveted such machines are in time.

For those of us who learned how to drive in a stick shift (mine was a well used 1984 Subaru, I think it cranked out a full 70+ HP!), there is no similar experience.
