DS 9 was designed
for the Chinese market with larger room for rear passengers and some chrome to looks "richer".
And this model is 100% made in China.
Few sales there as Chinese thought it is a Chinese car not a car made in France.
Poor marketing DS department and huge lost money for the Company.

The c6 was much closer in my opinion
At least design wise. I grew up in the back of CX diesel and pallas, I could see myself getting in a used c6 just out of nostalgia.
Totally agree, the C6 had a "je ne sais quoi" that made it stand out.
The current DS9 as showed in the picture lacks the elegance of its older siblings. Hopefully with the crazy fast turnaround of car models, it may evolve sooner than later haha
You can easily say that the new design has lost its connection to the past.

The old DS is charmingly odd, very original, unique in engineering and styling. The new one is none of those things (although admittedly I don't know about its engineering).It looks
like a less attracive version of many modern cars. The old DS could never be confused with any other vehicle.
