Did the 911 travel to the ski hill on a flat bed?

Feb 03, 2020,14:21 PM

The car is immaculate white despite having driven to the ski hill?
And the skis remained clean, without any covers against dirt.

Here in Quebec, going to the ski hill means the skis must be placed inside the vehicle
or a ski box, because after 500 meters, my nice and clean car will be covered with slush and salt.

Is it manual gear box?

Best regards,
Yvessmile

My last 911 was metallic midnight blue. A great color. Hard to find used. It looks blue in the sun and in overcast weather it looks black. Nice combination. Many don’t like beige interior but I love that light colored leather. Both my 911s have beige inte...

Same taste.

Those wheels - have never seen those - are nice! A little nod to the 993 Turbo wheels

Exactly! Good eye.

They are a replica of the 18 inch turbo twist wheels.

Not Porsche factory.

They are aftermarket but approved by Porsche

Thanks Vinnie.

There are a number of very good wheel manufacturers that make stylish and classic wheels for Porsche cars. Usually they cost less than Porsche factory wheels and are very good quality.

Very brave my friend since this seems to be a 2WD 991.1. A 4WD version is a bit easier to drive on slippery surfaces.

The only Porsche I ever equipped with winter tires was a Cayenne GTS. 😊 Best, V.

Hi Volker.

I agree. I pick my days. I will not drive into the mountains with the C2 if there is an impending storm. 95 % of the time the roads are clear and dry. Good enough for me. My next 911 will be AWD. Likely a turbo. Skiing was very good today. By the way.

👍 Take care! [nt]

German engineering is the best in the world. The 911 is a perfect cold weather car. The cabin and seats heat up quickly. Rear engine is great for traction. I do understand that 4WD would be safer but for now I must make do with the C2S. (Not complaining)....

Lucky you. [nt]

Funny. I keep my car clean. Wash when dirty.

It has a ceramic coating which helps. The roads here in NH are very good. This morning it was clear. Roads dry so no salt and dirt kicked up. Also not much traffic. Only a few large trucks heading to the border ( logging). Lucky today. Yes. Manual transmi...

I skied Cannon Mt. today. Conditions were very good. Not too cold. Love looking at my 911 with a ski rack. I have seen the same thing in Europe and admired it.
