There has always been a possibility here to have special numberplates, but only the past ten years it become more famous here.
You pay 1000 Euro and you van have a plate with 1 to max 8 letters. If you want to add numbers i think it gets a bit weird you have to a - in between the letters and numbers. Suppose ‘FILIP’ is already taken by someone i could opt for ‘FILIP-1’ and so on .... .
Personally i like a special plate but not in a thousand years will i pay a thousand Euros to our ‘ gang of crooks government ‘ .... unless maybe i would choose a very difficult to read quick combination like ‘JGHDHFGD’ ... or something more difficult to put .... 😬 ... so when i do a 220 kmh flyby and therea cop watching or an angry green activist they aren’t able to read it.
In the pics you can see two examples of friends :
STI ... pretty obvious ....
VT ... my dealer Van Tittelboom .....
Other crazy stuff :
A friend used to have ‘VLKSWGN’ on his Beetle convertible but since he sold that car it’s now on his old Citroen Dyane 🤣.
‘WHATEVER’ on a Tesla, the guy is a real petrolhead but bying a non electric company car is too expensive here now.
Others:
FCUK OFF on a Porsche
SLUT (yes, it was a woman driving)
HIHIHI and HAHAHA on the same driveway ... one asks how simple one can be to spend 2000 € for this.
B DYLAN ,,,, yep i’m serious
BANGBUS ..... not kidding now, was on an old workers van.
FERRARI ... this one was on an old Fiat Panda
There are also 26 cars driving around with just one letter ... i already saw D .... probably his name begins with a D 🙄.
Actually we have the most idiotic and crazy combinations here, sometimes pretty funny.
Funny sidenote:
A couple of years ago one of our extremely smart bureaucratic idiot politician decided to double the price to 2000€ so he calculated that this way he could raise double the income for the state 🙄. One doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize it wouldn’t work. Demand dropped drastically to less than 10 % 😂. So after a few months they decided to go back to the 1000€ tariff. Smartpeople everywhere 🙄.
