To see it is to appreciate it.....

I cannot agree more on Volcano's statement that the people who panned it are those who have yet to see it in person. Wait till you see it. I was mesmerized and think it will become an all-time classic AP.
And if it doesn't work out and AP stops production after one year, it will become an instant collectible! Even with whatever modifications they make, the first edition will be classic, as all first editions do. My kids will be laughing and clinking champagne glasses with Christie's/Sotheby's/Philips people when the value skyrockets.
My advice - go see it, touch it, put it on your wrist, then comment. But be quick, because from what I saw and gathered, all the first year allocations are selling out everywhere.

Face to face with CODE 11.59

 By: Volcano : February 10th, 2019-11:46
So much has been written about CODE 11.59. Mostly by people who never had the watch in their hands. Last week I went to the AP House in Madrid to have a look. It is a great piece of watch making! It wears comfortably and feels well on the wrist. A perfect...

Don’t worry about the size. To see how it looks on a lady’s wrist I asked a friend to put it on her wrist. Although she is very thin it looks good on her. Regards, Hans ...

some redesigning should do the trick

Thanks for the elaborate pics Hans. While I am an AP fan there is a lot amiss here to me at least. Firstly, I do not see these as a step above their JA line - different but not nec better...

...2ndly there are just so many competing options . Aesthetically I wud even prefer Breguet/VC over Code. Then there are independents which bring so much to the table that Code has to compete with. This is def not a moon shot from AP in my books. Viewed b...

I think you make a good point

strong opinion is free on the internet. I will reserve my opinion until I have seen them. I think the case design looks interesting. I’m not crazy about thick watches, in general, so I will be interested to see how it feels. Thank you for your pictures

I have handled them and I change my view.

10mm is definitely not thick. But wrist shots make them look thick and large.

That’s good to know

Agree that 10mm is not a thick piece by today’s standards.

A bit under, for me. ;) [nt]
