Thinking of getting another AP

Sep 28, 2015,20:47 PM

Hi guys... It's been awhile since I buy AP watch. Have been lurking at some watches.. I've got a few under my AP collection such as RB2, Bumblebee, Legacy, grey theme, panda, etc. Have been seriously thinking of getting AP Montoya Ti since price has dropped to twenties range, or going for 44mm Novelty Carbon Ceramic. What do you guys think of those 2? Or even going for Schumi instead but price is in slightly different range.

Let me know your thoughts.

to take my 15202 to AP Service Centre in Singapore. Again. I bought this watch in January 2015 and it has worked less than a month. To be honest, one reason is that the Service Centre is far away. Anyhow, the brand new RO Perpetual I bought brand new less...

Geez Kari, not again! This is beyond ridiculous.

I have never heard of such a problematic Jumbo. I really feel for you. It is a watch I find I love more and more every time I wear it. I imagine yours causes great hesitation. It should not be like that :-(

It should not be like that...

I discussed with a PP Master Watchmaker about the case and he gave three possible issues without opening my watch. I told the diagnosis to the AP watchmaker who took my watch for service and he agreed about the possible reasons. What I find incredible is ...

I'm wearing mine right now.

I studied the rotor and how it slides around as I move the watch in each direction. I see no hesitation or hangups. When I shake it next to my ear it sounds normal. If the problem with your piece continues to be that the rotor is not winding the movement,...

I try to be patient.

Some months ago I met a fellow Purist in Patek Salon in London. He told me that he also bought 15202 and the watch had been working for a week or so without any problems. Next week the same gentleman sent me a mail telling that "his watch stopped just lik...

Bluntly spoken: that sucks big time! What the hell is wrong with this watch? We\'ve spoken about this months ago. More forum members (me also; straight out of the box mind you) have had this problem. Indeed: what is up with quality control over there?!? I...

It happens even it should not happen.

I take the situation quite easy: I bought two AP and both are scrap. Period. It is easy to draw conclusions. AP staff is friendly and try to help. The only issue that makes me really mad is when they say: "we have never heard of similar problems". And the...

I would be in your shoes, I would hesitate between two of my favorite ROO...

The Montoya Ti, and the Orchard Road. I owned the Montoya in titanium, it was a watch I loved a lot, which I sold only because I couldn't set the strap for my wrist. But I damn loved that watch! And the Orchard Road, because of the tantalum case, and its ...

Montoya.

That would be the choice IMO, and a great addition to your RBII.
