Sometimes you get surprised by what's in the back...

I had a chance to visit my local AP dealer on a whim and asked cheekily "what's in the back" and lo and behold, I had a chance to see these two incredible pieces - a Titanium Tourbillon and a Titanium Supersonnerie!!

Both are exciting but understated pieces in Titanium - maybe a little blasphemous with the richness of the complication but I think it's practical if you wear your watches daily. The sound from the SS is of course phenomenal and comes from the Concept - the slide action is incredibly smooth, but sadly given the architecture to amplify the SS, you can't see the movement, which I'm sure is superb. On the Tourbillon, beyond the use of AP's new flying Tourbillon model (which is more aesthetically pleasing than the previous model) the dial has a "stamped" finishing.

Anyway, a simple photo below in comparison to my Urwerk 203. Apologies for the harsh photo, but really shows that there is some light at the end of the tunnel!

Cheers!

Peter

Yes I always make it a point to ask if there is anything special in the safe when I visit my ADs. Once in a while we get lucky to see something exceptional

Am interested to know what you think of the Super Sonniere? I have not heard it in person and am very curious to know how it compares to a Patek minute repeater. Audibility/loudness aside, how is the timbre, cadence, tonality? The Patek minute repeater te...

Iā€™ve only had a chance to hear the Patekā€™s on YouTubeā€¦so I donā€™t have a proper in-person referenceā€¦

With my absolutely untrained and humble ears, if I generally compare the sound quality, the Patekā€™s seem to chime more strongly at a frequency especially on the upper end, making it sound ā€œsharperā€ than the AP, and I found that between chimes the Patek re...
