C. Royak Oak Offshore Chronograph Perpetual Calendar
Feb 04, 2013,11:40 AM
The first new novelties I discovered when walking into the AP display were the following reinterpretations of the chronograph perpetual calendars powered by the Calibre 2326/2839. These limited edition watches are offered in three different case materials in very limited numbers - 35 pieces in titanium, 25 pieces in pink gold, and 10 pieces in platinum.
The titanium and gold models share a black dial, while the platinum model receives a very cool sky blue dial.
When comparing to the older versions of this rather unique Offshore, we see some new dial details and hand colors. The moonphase subdial at 3:00 is especially sharp in my opinion.
The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Perpetual Calendar has an extremely thick caseband. It is a real chunky watch, but I found it very comfortable on the hornback strap.
The pink gold model is visually striking, with additional gold detailing on the dial. The rings around the subdials are just awesome in person.
I did not have the opportunity to handle the platinum model. The gold version was heavy, but certainly not enough to make for a lack of comfort. The titanium model felt amazing on my wrist, almost surprising in that this thick, chunky watch had such little weight to it. I did not want to take it off. It is absolutely a watch I would love to own, and my likely favorite novelty within the 2013 range next to the Tradition Minute Repeater Tourbillon Chronograph.
Reference numbers for the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Perpetual Calendars are:26209TI.OO.D101CR.01 - Titanium case, 35 pieces
