Rubber vs SS

Sep 09, 2020,19:06 PM

When it comes to Royal Oak Offshore, one would naturally think of a beef-up Royal Oak in rubber or sometimes leather strap. It’s matches the theme better, as an oversized sports watch meant for the water/sea.

But every time I put on the rubber straps for the re-issued Beast, 26237ST, i actually felt that some love was lost, I still prefer it with the SS bracelet.

Finally, a pic of it on rubber

Rubber cheapens watches IMO...

...even the word "rubber" doesn't sound great. It's not an appealing or luxurious word. "...putting a rubber on my 40K watch" Putting a rubber on brings a different image to my mind...!

😆😆😆

Yes, the bracelet is stunning. My usage is probably 80% bracelet, 20% rubber

The rubber does match the pushers and crown ....

But it doesn’t look as imposing as when it’s on bracelet.
