royal oak day date moon phase -- Why discontinued?

Hi all,

I've been thinking of a royal oak day-date, but recently saw that the current royal oak day date actually replaced an earlier model the royal oak day date WITH moon phase.

What was the rationale with removing the moon phase from the new day-date?

Having moonphase as part of a sporty model like the royal oak would make it look a little weird. With that said, perhaps they realized it after a long long while and discontinued it.
