If I were good at taking pictures I'd show you better all the wear and tear (a.k.a. "character") that this lovely coin has gained over the past 7 years, but I just took a quick shot with my phone to give you an idea...
Some tiny scratches/hairlines are obviously there, but the inscriptions have remained perfectly legible over time:

As for the "strap," it originally came with a nice silk cord that miraculously lasted about a year. After that, I tried many options via my AD, before I simply settled on some wool/cashmere yarn that can be replaced quickly anytime (these "strap changes" really take less than a minute and are courtesy of....my girlfriend or my mother! 
)
