Audemars Piguet

I never read it as AP bashing, and it is a valid question. HOWEVER -

The first time I tried on a silver dial rubberclad in 2001, I was blown away by the AP precision of assembly. Everything was as perfect as could be. Here I am over 20 years later, a dedicated enthusiast.
When everything else is so precise, how come the slot on the bolts is not? Again, as someone who has owned many Royal Oaks & Offshores, I never had a single bolt that offended me. But some less than perfect? I guess.
Now the "however" part - and an important note for you - photos definitely make them look off. After your post the other day, I looked at a picture of a Royal Oak on my phone. It makes all 4 of the side bolts (2, 4, 8, and 10) look noticeably off. But in person, no way. They are perfect. In fact, with a loupe, depending on how I hold the watch and view the bolt, it can look off center to one side and then move the watch around and it is off center to the other side. Has to be a result of the polishing and how the light refracts in photos.
As you say, you don't own any, so you could not really know or understand. I will try to post some photos for you later.
