Do I need a new Jumbo? What does a Purist do?

Hmmm just got the call. A new Jumbo is in for me.

Buy and flip?

Or do the right thing and pass onto the next enthusiast in the queue because I’m not convinced I want this one.

Or will it be a flipper anyway? Hmmmm.

And try it on, own it for awhile and see how you feel. If you don’t like it at the end of the day, you can sell it and still not hurt anyone or be labeled a flipper. Important thing is to own it for awhile and see if it resonates with you. I bought mine a...

Well if you’re really not liking it, it really depends on you and what you feel is right

of a family death, but then contacted AP direct about Jan this year and discussed the 'situation' that we all know, as to how come I can buy one from a reseller on demand, but can't get one officially etc....blah blah, that I hadn't put myself in more tha...

If it's definitely not for you pass on it. Having said that I don't think there is anything wrong with taking the 15202 for a long test drive to decide whether you just like it or truly love it. If at a later date you decide it isn't a true keeper and mak...

My Recommendation...

Save your money, your white dial is better made. Just do a side by side comparison and you'll notice the quality difference everywhere. I did that comparison with my 5402 A series and the difference in quality was night and day. S

Thanks my friend. I have not been able to get them side by side

I like the watch head of the new one. I really like how they cleaned up the precision of the case facets and even on the reverse, but the bracelet gapping is a real difference I'd not noticed before. I can practically see no light through my 'old' one it ...

Are you saying a 5402 is better made than a new 15202? [nt]

 By: TimeMachine : July 17th, 2018-14:32
I have been looking at 5402 and old productions of the 15202 with the AP clasp. The new 15202 butterfly clasp is what puts me off but the dial is so nice

There seem to be different dial versions of the Extra Thin as time has passed since 2012.

The earlier ones having fewer blocks across the dial. The latest ones seem to have the same block count as the original (5402) across the dial (about 30).

But Tim the font type and size...

Makes a big difference on the aesthetics of the dial and the 5402 at least for me is more elegant

All, compare the font type and size with the 5402 or the earlier 15202..

The new one isn't as nice for me. S
