Da Beast!!!

Mar 04, 2023,18:49 PM

After over 20 years of collecting AP, and starting with the stainless Beast, I'm incredibly full of joy and emotion to acquire the Ceramic Beast.

I still remember the day when I had to choose between a Stainless Beast and the SS Daytona - and I knew at that moment the Beast would be my choice. It was Bold, Audacious, Avant Garde, Uncommon, and Fun - and I always enjoyed sharing the story of AP to others who came to watch meets with the SS Daytona.

I'm absolutely enjoying this ceramic beast more than my original stainless as:
A) it is WAY lighter than I remember
B) it is much more scratch resistant than the past
C) it has a smooth chrono action - unlike the rather charming "jumping chrono hand" JLC 889 module
D) it is also way understated than the past

Many thanks to my incredible friends at AP - to live this collecting experience full circle - from stainless Beast to ceramic Beast - is a dream come true.

Here are a few early wrist shots!

Do you have the original steel Beast? A side by side would be great.

I wish!!

20 plus years ago I could only afford one haute horologerie piece - and sadly that one had to be let go for another piece. Anyway - appreciate the note!! Cheers Peter

What a journey 👏🏽

I love how the striations on the black ceramic show in certain lighting. Unique feature. Wear it in the best of health.

Kind words...

It's not many maisons who can offer both old and new - so very pleased to be able to link both. Cheers Peter

Funny one! Regardless of lineage, EODs and the Survivor remain grail pieces for me!!! Maybe the reason why I am so into ceramic in the first place. Peter

Thanks much!!!

Looking in different lighting conditions it seems even more dynamic. Strangely different than the other ceramics... Peter ...

You got a real stunner there Peter! 👌

Darth Vader of RO Offshores.

Probably the most desirable Offshore. The ceramic case and bracelet takes this watch to another level, for the lucky owner. One wonders, how many or how few of these watches AP will make ???

Darth Vader!!!

That's another cool name! Many thanks for the note. I am also a bit interested too on supply, but not too much just enjoying the feel of cool oversized ceramic on my wrist. Cheers Peter

Got to fly with it today - and enjoyed the practical pieces - no worries about aberrant seat belt scratches, special security screenings, or watch collector double-takes - all incredibly under the radar Cheers and take care Peter

Just wonderful! Congrats!

I’ve always been hesitant to pull the trigger on any all black ceramic pieces. My primary concern is how will that piece age. But AP really did a beautiful execution of this Beast!!! The more I see this, the more I . . . STOP!!! I need to remember I need ...

Many thanks!!!

Ha - you are going on a run!! Some thoughts. Physically - I don't think the watch will look much different in 20 years. Now whether that will remain desirable is another thing, but it does not matter much to me We spend these amounts to bring that smile t...

Congrats Peter in
