This is a good Code

The dial here is much better than some of the original releases. Very good use of negative space. I'd like to see it in the metal, as the mid-case is quite interesting as well.

The outer ring track in your Flying Tourbillon is a minutes scale. The first version of the Flying Tourbillon had an inside minutes track too, while your version is cleaner and has only one. A functional improvement to the design. In the Perpetual Calendar, the ring is used as a Week Number track, again to good effect.

That ring has to have some sort of scale, so the watch must have a 360 degree hand. That's the restriction AP has placed on the line. With the recent Starwheel, the outer ring is a seconds scale. Unfortunately, the 3D shape of the satellite minutes track means in the central seconds hand can't extend anywhere close to the inside edge of the ring. The seconds hand looks very short in photographs.

So far, Code design requires that that outside ring be used for *something*, but we've seen how this requirement can either be a strength or a banana peel.

Not every AP movement and complication can be easily adapted to the Code line. The improvements made so far leave me with a positive impression that the Code line has a bright future. The designs should feel as though they flow naturally to the Code. When you own a watch for a long time, the small details become important. What do you see everyday once the wow factor wears off?

I’m sure you have heard people throwing shit on the code 1159 release since day 1 but true enough the earlier versions are not good-looking . I personally find them very thick and clumsy and overpriced. However, I think this year AP has released codes tha...

Haven't seen that one before, definitely a winner.

When Montblanc first came out with the original Timewalker watch (the current Timewalker watch has a slightly different case, I'm referring to the original), with an innovative case with pierced lugs and a bowl shape case, there was a structural and archi...

Many times the brand plays a big part. I see many big Brands like rolex receiving positive feedbacks when all they do is change dial or material and yet when some others do it…people say the Brands are lazy. Funny how the world works. Thanks for showing m...

If you like thin watches, check out the Bulgari Octo Finissimo. In steel, it's half the price of the AP, and from a movement and craftsmanship perspective, it's almost equivalent! There are some things that Bulgari had to do that may seem atypical to get ...

I do like the octo but

It’s really hard for me to wear as I have a small wrist so it wears like a bracelet ! Kudos to Bulgari!

I've got a small wrist too!

The Code 11:59 actually

It's a nice* watch, mostly in the recent models that have no date (how many years did it took to remove it?) and the moser-ish dials. Nice* like many other several dozens

Oh yes!

I first discovered the dial on miser’s vanta black rose gold streamlined. It was insanely black. I called it soul sucking black! Looks amazing

You are correct, many did not appreciate the new collection at first.

We live in a super reactionary world. Many feel obligated to get themselves on record right away. But now there are many converts to the CODE 11.59 collection. Yours is a beauty, congratulations!

Thanks so much michael
