This is a good Code

The dial here is much better than some of the original releases. Very good use of negative space. I'd like to see it in the metal, as the mid-case is quite interesting as well.
The outer ring track in your Flying Tourbillon is a minutes scale. The first version of the Flying Tourbillon had an inside minutes track too, while your version is cleaner and has only one. A functional improvement to the design. In the Perpetual Calendar, the ring is used as a Week Number track, again to good effect.
That ring has to have some sort of scale, so the watch must have a 360 degree hand. That's the restriction AP has placed on the line. With the recent Starwheel, the outer ring is a seconds scale. Unfortunately, the 3D shape of the satellite minutes track means in the central seconds hand can't extend anywhere close to the inside edge of the ring. The seconds hand looks very short in photographs.
So far, Code design requires that that outside ring be used for *something*, but we've seen how this requirement can either be a strength or a banana peel.
Not every AP movement and complication can be easily adapted to the Code line. The improvements made so far leave me with a positive impression that the Code line has a bright future. The designs should feel as though they flow naturally to the Code. When you own a watch for a long time, the small details become important. What do you see everyday once the wow factor wears off?
