I agree with much of what you've said. The E is a lighter finer experience.
Interesting to see that your side on pic betrays the same quirk of finish AP cleaned up when switching to the newer case. (I.e. the bevels do not quite meet to a point at 2 and 4 oclock. And the bottom edge is dffierent)

The older bracelet has much more finesse and charm to it. Like you said it is almost weightless and slips...
