Scars

I think we tend to get hung up on "what if...".

Unfortunately it happened.
Fortunately it doesn't look bad...like everyone says you will probably remember this vacation for a while!
It's also a good thing that the bezel is more easily replaceable than say the case. You could say that the bezel has done a great job and it's doing what it was supposed to do - to prevent shattering of the crystal.

I hope this doesn't come across as harsh, as it's not supposed to.
There are so many things that could happen to us on a daily basis.
In the grand scheme of things, being able to buy a cool watch despite having scuffed it (while on vacation) isn't such bad place to be. :-D

I forgot to add...while it wasn't on an AP ROO, a similar thing happened to me too.
I was in the supermarket (of all places) and I used my left hand to grab something off from a refrigerated shelf. On the way out of course my arm hits the top of this shelf and I now have a permanent dent (barely visible) on one of the teeth on the bezel. This was on a few months old watch. It annoyed me no end for a short while. Since then I've picked up another dent...and now it doesn't bother me so much.

The worst accident I had was maybe 12/13 years ago.
I was wearing a days old, Titanium Casio Protrek and I was mountainbiking.
Of course I crashed! The watch tore off my wrist and was dented, scratched and dinged beyond the point of repair.
Back then, that was expensive for me but I'm sure the watch also protected my left wrist!
I still have some physical scars as a reminder of that incident :P

When you make a wrong decision and you regret it one second later... ...

What did happen? [nt]

It's very painful, indeed, but I'll try to live with it

This is supposed to be my summer & fun watch, so scratches and dings are difficult to avoid

Exactly! And now I know I want to keep the watch, so no hurry at all

Initially I wasn't sure because of the size. But after testing it during my summer holidays (its main purpose), I'm sure it's a keeper ๐Ÿค—

Ouch ๐Ÿ˜ฌ [nt]

It breaks my heart too when such things happened ...

depending on how bad the ding/scratch, I might train my eyes not to look at it but for this case, Iโ€™ll probably send it to experts to fix it. Sorry to see that.

Thanks my friend

Like you, my eyes tend to look at it all the time. Let's see if I can live with it. My intention is to wait till first maintenance and make a decision then (polish or new bezel). Trying to be positive, it's not so bad to have some marks on your "fun" watc...

Depends

If its a daily wear watch used as a work watch, I wouldnโ€™t mind these scratches etc. compare it to the first โ€œpark mg door dentโ€ in your new car. If the watch is used more formal it the damage is lethal

I agree. It still hurts, but you're right

"Fortunately" this watch is not intended for more formal use

As my wife ........

who like all women is always sympathetic to a fault says whenever I complain at length about a mark on any of my watches - marks that are too slight for most people to see with the naked eye BUT I KNOW THEY ARE THERE! - Don't worry, it adds more character...

Nonsense. Check this out...

I tend to disagree my friend -- this watch is your daily beater, and in fact, these small dings will likely happen again. There's no aesthetic damage whatsoever, just more character now!;-)

As a corollary, you'll enjoy this AP freely from now on -- and have one more story to tell about your eventful vacation! Cheers.

Thanks a lot my friend, I do appreciate your support

I definitely need positive inputs to get over this incident ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Ouch, that hurts!

I feel you. It happened to me on my RO, twice, with the same doorknob, in a period of five minutes. It's easier to fix than it looks, if you are lucky enough to know the right person to do it. Although you can learn to live with it, and just enjoy your be...

I'll try my best to live with it ๐Ÿ™

Tonight I've been wearing it for dinner and I've been able to eat, which is a positive first step in the right direction ๐Ÿ˜…

And some scars are the proof.

Donโ€™t Worry.

A sporty watch deserves a lot more scratches than that. Donโ€™t fix it. It looks good.
