I did think of that once a long time back but it annoys me plenty to have plastic coming off at the edges (which is inevitable).

Ok perhaps this is blasphemy...

I might be losing my posting privileges here, but I decided to dabble with putting on "watch protection film" on my jumbo. Many of you are probably familiar with Paint Protection Film and Wrapping when it comes to car paint protection, but when IG began t...

Some more photos of bracelet...

Unfortunately all 18kt. bracelet watches are subject to scratches, dings and dents :-(

Over the years I've learned to wear all Stainless watches, and your model in SS is wonderful, for everyday wear. I only wear my 18kt. pieces for dress up days and nights. Just some food for thought. Lovey watch for sure. No stickers - Please!

That’s true…

Unquestionably, this will be a lifetime piece for me. That being said, maybe I am hopeful to find a rationale to wear this model more frequently than other pieces (to think about depreciating the purchase over as many uses) but that extraordinary bracelet...

It's your watch to wear as you see fit, but

Maybe consider a SS everyday "Beater"? IMHO an Omega SMP 2254.50 ticks all the boxes from being a bullet proof, excellent timekeeper, easy to read without being thick as a brick and most attractive. Just my 2Cs - again ;-)

I'll do the same.

I'll make sure nobody breathes around my watch as well. It might get a green patina.

:)))

I heard some future wifes insist on plastic wraps

 By: mrds : July 25th, 2021-14:22
… in some places, even before getting married 😁

Ha! Sealed beauties.

The dog too 😋

Yes, the whole package.

My wife is mainly plastic! ;-)

Apologies, dear friend.

 By: Ivan5 : July 25th, 2021-14:18
If I were you, I'd take the "sheath" off and invite your exquisite piece to the world. The more scratches, the better! Be well!

Yes, that’s the default position…

Cheers, Peter

Hilarious...

I was wondering where my sudden interest came with plastic wrap. I just visited my parents home and I realised how much of our furniture remains under plastic wrap...photos taken from the web below for fun. I didn't take any photos but who else had this e...

Too funny!

The last time I saw those were growing up as a kid, visiting grandparents and their friend's homes.

Only one solution....

You're just going to have to buy two! I admit that I suffer from the same phobia... We all want to retain that "new car smell" for as long as possible. My bracelets worry me the most, so I might be able to live with parts of the case unprotected... Howeve...

You know that thought has crossed my mind…

 By: pfang56 : July 26th, 2021-16:00
But that would be too greedy and would take an allocation away from a deserving collector. My eyesight isn’t so great anymore, so maybe I try it out for now… Peter

I am with you in blaspheming Peter!

A couple of months ago I bought a Deepsea Sea Dweller and since it is a large watch I thought it was bound to get bashed about. The thing is I like watches when they are new and pristine and when they are old and well worn in, but I don’t like the in betw...

Yes! Another one in the club…

 By: pfang56 : July 26th, 2021-16:07
And I was afraid I would be the only one! Thanks for sharing your experience. I must say that when I first started in collecting, I did not have the economic means to minimize the overall wear and tear of my collection. Also, I had always assumed that “on...

Agreed…

Then the remedy is remove and restick, unless the outcome really cheapens the look. But especially when there is sweater fabric or dust that sticks to the end, I recognize the folly of this exercise… Cheers Peter

Well, as my eyes continue to age, maybe I would not see it...

 By: MichaelC : July 26th, 2021-12:22
But then again, I should not see scratches either

Yes! I totally agree…

 By: pfang56 : July 26th, 2021-16:10
Perhaps what I may gain is a little peace of mind? In the end, I can’t see the stickers nor the scratches, but I know when I accidentally smash the watch on a wall or a door or scratch this on a seat belt… I Cheers Peter

I get it

 By: Poky : July 26th, 2021-18:02
That exquisite brushed metal looks too good to be ruined. Some of the stickers are misaligned and one is upside down. If the stickers are perfectly aligned and don't move/come off, I won't have a problem with them.

Absolutely terrible

 By: Credor : July 27th, 2021-17:54
Don't want scratches get a G shock? Cant afford scratches? Cant afford the watch. Worst thing I have seen today.

Why thank you for your clear answer…

 By: pfang56 : July 27th, 2021-18:26
It’s the only watch I’ve decided to try the stickers… No stickers… No stickers… No stickers… No stickers…. No stickers…. No stickers….. No stickers…. No stickers…. Got more!!! Cheers Peter ...

I think my wife is less sensitive than I am...

 By: pfang56 : July 27th, 2021-18:38
No stickers, and she has diamonds... ...

This feels like the antithesis of owning a watch...

 By: MZHammer : July 28th, 2021-03:51
That is blasphemy on a RO!
